Chapter 33

~Anna's POV~

The next morning I woke up with a goofy grin on my face. There was intense sunlight in my room so it was probably noon. I got up and did my morning routine.

Getting dressed and combing my hair, I went into the kitchen with a smile plastered on my face.

"Morning brother~" I chimed seeing as they were all in the kitchen. I took my seat beside Max and poured myself some grape juice.

"What got you in this mood?" Eric asked.

"Nothing." I sang, taking a sip from my glass.

"Now I know its something. Oh by the way how was your date with Itachi?"

"It wasn't a date!" I replied blushing a little, nearly spilling my drink.

"Whatever you say. So did you have fun?"

"Hells I did! I even won a men game! You know the show-of-strength one?"

"Against Itachi?" Tim asked.

"Yeah. But just by one digit. I still won though." My grin came back as I thought about the kiss.

"Looks its back! Come on tell us what else happened!" Both Tim and Eric pressed. Max was just smirking to himself at my reaction. Did he know? 😳

"Well umm.." I thought of an excuse. " You see I lost the hoopla game and was really sad about it but Itachi won a stuffed grizzly for me. That's what I'm so happy about."

It wasn't a lie. But not the truth they wanted either. 😛

"So that's where it came from." Max thought out loud.

"What do you mean?"

" I went to wake you but changed my mind because we all know you arrived past midnight. That's when I spotted the bear."

"You have an observant eye." I chuckled ruffling Max's hair.

"Runs in the blood."

"Yapp."

The rest of the day was really boring as I had nothing to do, so I just roamed the house teasing whichever brother was busy with themselves. That...sounded wrong.

But to be honest, it wasn't that I had nothing to do, its just my mind was occupied with thoughts of Itachi, like how nice he was to take me to the festival and how helpful he was during my absence from school. Heck he even brought me flowers!

Speaking of which...

I went to the backyard in search of something that wasn't there but when I was about to go back inside, I spotted Itachi on the opposite road, walking back to his house. I crossed the partition and went to him, wanting to inquire about something.

"Oooooi Itachi!" I gained his attention easily. He looked at me a bit oddly but stopped so I could catch up easily.

"Slept in?" He asked and I had some trouble making the sense of it.

"What?"

"Your fringe is sitting up. Did you sleep in?" He clarified pointing to the back of my head.

"Oooh!" I smoothed my hair. "Ya, I just woke up a few hours ago."

"So, what did you want?" I scratched my head thinking what I wanted to talk about.

"Oh yes! Right. I was thinking about um...something..then I thought about flowers and remembered the lotuses you brought me during my hospitalisation."

"And...?" He started walking to the direction of my backyard.

"And then I remembered that you mentioned something about a pond-"

"Yes, I studied quite a bit about it but I am sorry your yard wasn't big enough to construct a pond." I pouted.

"Where did you take those flowers then? I'd hate to know that they died."

"Oh no, no. I took them to a location where there was a pond." I felt relieved.

"Phew. Thanks buddy." I patted his back. "You are very responsible. I like that." I said it before I had time to register its possible meanings. I am sure it must have triggered a recent memory because the Grizzly was red as a tomato.

"I got to go." He said quickly and left. When left alone to my own thoughts, I started thinking why the Uchicha left so suddenly then I remembered that I kissed his cheek last night. That must've been it. I was pretty embarrassed myself now for saying and doing things without really thinking about it.

The rest of the vacations, I recall, went by with just hangouts with friends. I was on strict healthy meals and some exercise. My heart was doing OK and I prevented myself from hyperventilating three times. And just like that, the second term of school started.
