Nos limped over to us with his wounded foot. I knew he wasn't going to make it though. Either Conex was going to shoot him, or the horsemen where going to catch up with him. I drew my sword and rushed forwards, just in time to deflect a shot from Conex and slash down an soldier. The Gray Kingdom soldiers were quickly taken care of since most of them got killed in the explosion and the ones that survived were gravely wounded.
"Go" Yelled Richard, "I'll hold them off. You get Nos somewhere safe and get out of here"
Richard then drew his sword and charged the soldiers. I grabbed Nos and plopped him over my shoulder, then I started sprinting towards the fishing boats.
"What are you doing?" Asked Nos, "We have to get to the naval ships. We can't ride a fishing boat home!"
"All the naval ships are either badly damaged, or destroyed," I shouted to him, "A fishing vessel is our only chance!"
I scrambled up the deck of the fishing vessel closest to us. It was in very bad shape. The hull was starting rot, the sails were ripped and the entire thing was coated in rust. Just as I put Nos down on the deck, I realized that I had no idea how to steer a ship, or even put up a sail.
Suddenly, I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I drew my sword and pointed it towards the stairs. To my surprise, a handful of fishermen came out of there.
"Who are you?" I shouted at them, afraid that it might be another trap, "What are you doing here?"
"We're all residents of the Gray Kingdom," Said one fisherman in a low voice, "When we heard about the Red Kingdom attack, we all hid inside our boat."
"Do you want to get out of here?" I asked them. They all nodded. "You need to set up the sails and sail us out if we want to survive and get out of the Gray Kingdom. Right now, I need to help Richard get on here too."
The fishermen went to work, setting up the sails. I jumped over the side and landed at the docks. They creaked at the effort, but thankfully they didn't break. I sprinted towards Richard, who was surrounded by enemies. They were slashing at him, but he managed to block every single strike. He was getting tired though. I knew he wouldn't last much longer.
I pulled a soldiers off his horse and swung onto it.
"Let's go Richard!" I shouted to him
He grabbed my arm and swing in behind me. I had never rode a horse in my life before. In fact, I didn't even know what a horse was until yesterday. But it was pretty easy figuring it out. Pulling the reins to the left meant left and same for the right. Pulling back meant stopping.
I loosened my grip and the horse shot forwards like lighting. When we reached the dock, the fishing vessel had already raised it's sails and was sailing away. I saw Nos reach his hand over the edge of the boat. I realized what he wanted us to do.
"We have to jump," I shouted to Richard, "It's our only chance!"
Richard nodded and we both stood up on the horse. I jumped and grabbed Nos's outreached hand. Richard caught my leg and together, we pulled each other up. Conex was too far to get a clear shot and none of the soldiers had brought bows with them. One threw his sword, but it bounced off the hull harmlessly and fell into the water. I still didn't relax until the Gray Kingdom was a dot in the horizon.

I didn't have any dreams that night. As I approached the breakfast table, there was only some small pieces of bread, crackers, and some water.
