There was a sound coming from beneath the second floor. It began with a rustle but gradually grew louder until it suddenly stopped. It stayed like that for around three minutes. Then I heard the hinges of the door squeak. Why would somebody be up at two o' clock? I thought. Curious, I got out of my bed and strolled down the stairs of the residence Richard, Nos and I were staying temporarily. The steps groaned under my weight as I went down. I could feel someone watching me as I went through the door frame. Suddenly, he came out of the shadows.
"Hi Lenard," said Nos. "What are you doing this time of the night and why are you following me?"
"I heard some sounds coming below me and I decided to check it out," I replied. "Why are you up at this time?"
"I'm training," he responded. "Becoming the best archer in the green kingdom doesn't take nothing you know. Do you want to train with me?"
Since I was really tired I just rejected his offer and went back to my bed. There, I thought about how hard Nos worked every day and that I might have to train just like him to become the greatest swordsman someday.

I woke up to the sound of Richard screaming I threw off the covers of my bed and quickly ran downstairs. "What's wrong. what's wrong," I asked Richard
"T-there's a-a-a SPIDER!!!!" He screamed. I raised my eyebrow at him "your scared of spiders?" I asked him.
"Do not underestimate them, Lenard!" He replied " They are heartless creatures of darkness and can kill very fast if they see the opportunity"
Since I wasn't that hungry, I decided to leave Richard with his spider-phobia. I was kind of bored, so I went to the only place that calmed me down. I needed to pay the Royal Library another visit.
Once I marched inside the Royal Library secret entrance room again, the guards repeated the same process to open the entrance. I gripped the iron wrung of the ladder and began to descend down into the dark.
When I was just a child, the royal library had been jammed with people. All sorts of people, really. Most were generals, all looking for ancient information of some kind. Some were travelers though. They were granted access to the library before the war started.
I remember there the first time I went, there were people reading on all of the tables. Many librarians were scurrying around, trying to find books for everyone. Now, as I finally reached the bottom of the ladder, the Royal Library was almost empty.
There were not even 10 librarians walking around the place, looking for someone to help. As usual, there was a iron vault in the middle of the place. I walked up to the vault. I needed to continue reading the ancient book inside.
Once I reached 2 meters of the vault, one of the guards walked up towards me.
"Whats your name kid?" He said, with one hand on his sword hilt.
"Um.." I wasn't sure what was happening. They let me in so easily before, "Lenard Danson?
"Ease it up there Felix," Said another Guards, probably the leader, "He's Mason's son. Don't you remember? He came here before."
"Oh.. Ya, "Felix responded, looking embarrassed, " Sorry sir, ever since the fall of the Gray Kingdom, we need to keep the security tight around here."
"It's fine, really, " I responded, "I'll be in the vault all right?"
Felix nodded to 2 other guards flanking the entrance to the vault. They turned the wheel attached the vault and with a creak, the entrance opened. The guards saluted me as I walked into the vault.
