Antitso took that opportunity and knocked me down to the ground. Luckily, Nos managed to shoot an arrow at him. Antitso snatched the arrow out of the sky, but he staggered back for a brief second. I lunged forwards and slashed Loth across his chest. Meanwhile, Nos and Hal cornered Conex and was forcing him back with a spear.
Antitso and I fought back and forth, but there was nobody seemed to have the upper hand. Finally, Antitso took at step back and tripped over a barrel. Before I knew what was happening, I had the tip of my sword hovering a few inches in front of his head.
Unfortunately for us, the larger fleet of the Red Kingdom was sailing closer and closer. Many of our soldiers managed to dock and was fighting on land, but if our escape route was sealed, we were going to be dead for sure.
Suddenly, Antitso started to get brighter in front of me. I glanced back and saw that Conex was doing the same. Nos notched an arrow and fired at Antitso, but in a brilliant flash of dark light, Antitso disappeared and came out of thin air next to Ivor on the other fleets main ship. Nos's arrow flew through the spot where Antitso once was and inbeaded itself onto the wood of the ship.
I glanced at the castle wall. The defenders were gaining morality as they saw the rescuing fleet appear out of the fog. Our soldiers had cleared the area in front of the castle walls, but now they were hacking uselessly on the hard stone walls. The defenders, however had gotten those flaming crossbows and were shooting at us. Nos shot 3 defenders off the wall, but that still left half a dozen more.
The main problem was behind us. The enemy fleet was already within firing range, but none of them fired yet. They kept sailing forwards, knowing that we were trapped. Then with a load noise, the castle gates opened and Red Kingdom soldiers spilled out.
"Retreat!" Hal shouted over the clash of swords, "get back on the ships!"
Even if we did make it back to the ship, our situation wasn't going to get any better. Some of the Red Kingdom fleet was shooting at us now, sinking our ships faster than we could return fire. Hal impaled another soldier with his spear and climbed back on the Gallion.
"What now?" Hal said, "we're trapped, there's no way we could fight our way out of this one."
"We're going to have to!" I replied, "We may be able to charge through their line, just for a few of our ships to get through."
Hal nodded and started to set our sail the other way. Many of our ships were doing the same, knowing that there was no possible way to conquer the Red Kingdom yet.
I was about to climb onto the Gallion when Ivor appeared out of thin air and slashed at me with The Sword Of Darkness. I parried and we fought along the docks. The dark mist kept on creeping out of his sword, but Loth acted like a shield, blocking the mist whenever it started getting close to me.
Suddenly, a cannonball exploded between is and sent Ivor and me hurling in opposite directions. When I stood up, Ivor was already on his feet with his sword drawn. I didn't know what I was doing, but I raised my sword and channeled all my energy into it.
It was sort of like walking, you didn't think about it,it just happens naturally. Then, a beam of pure light shot out of my sword and shot towards Ivor. He raised his sword just in time to block the beam, but he staggered.
Within seconds, the beam shut of on its own. I staggered backwards, now exhausted. The Gallion was picking up speed now, racing along the docks. I ran for the ship, but a startling pain erupted in my left leg. I glanced down and saw blood spreading along my armour. Conex grinned at me as he stood on the castle wall.
