The ship was creaky and was at the verge of sinking from our last battle with the pirates at death bay. Richard and Hal managed to repair the ship so that it won't be in danger of sinking, but we only had 5 ships left and none of them were ready for battle yet.

"I say we need to turn back," Nos said, "If we enter battle like this, we'll be dead for sure."

"We can't turn back now!" I replied, "We've gotten too far and even if we manage to get back, King Pelias paid those pirates to kill me! We'll be executed once we get back."

"You can't seriously believe that right?" Richard said, "Osmar was just joking. He probably hired some people to steal the book from the vault and used to his advantage. Kin gPelias would never turn on you!"

"No," I said, with certainty, "Remember how King Pelias was acting strange recently? And every mission that he sent us on, the Red Kingdom had either knew about it, or it was a trap. We can't trust King Pelais anymore."

"You're right," Hal said, "Better gather the remaining soldiers that haven't been corrupted by King Pelais and stay at Ground Lake. We need those soldiers, not to mention if Alexia was still in there, we need her back as well."

"Alright," Nos said, "but we have to abandon the boat. There's no way that we can sail into the Red Kingdom camp with a couple nearly dead boats. We'll sail as far as possible, but once we get near the camp, we'll have to make the rest of the journey on foot."

I nodded and broke up the meeting. I wondered if what Ivor had said in the Battle Of Ground Lake. I wondered if King Pelais was one of my father's elite soldiers, but I quickly dismissed that thought as King Pelais would never follow anyone, he only led.

"We're approaching the shore," Richard said, coming up to the railing, "We need to gather our equipment and leave."

"Sure," I said, "We can't take a lot of the weapons or supplies with us, we won't be able to carry it all."

"We're going to have to leave it behind," Richard replied, "Same with the ships. We can hide the Gallion in some leaves, but we can't take it with us."

"How are we going to go back then?" I asked, "We can probably walk back, but it'll take lots of time and with dwindling supplies, we won't last long."

Richard was going to reply, but just then the Gallion rammed into the beach. Our soldiers, now down to about 100 people started boarding off our ships and loading off supplies. I helped Hal and Richard throw food, weapons and armour off the prow of the ship.

We them concealed the Gallion under leaves and gave it a good-bye pat. I had a feeling that I would see it again, but not in a long, long time.

Our soldiers quickly assembled a shield wall and some of the soldiers even covered up their shields with leaves to make it less visible. We marched really slowly through the woods, careful not to let any Red Kingdom scouts see.

A couple times, we heard quiet talking, but luckily, the Red Kingdom soldiers didn't see us. We kept on marching until suddenly, we heard loud crunching noises and we all crouched down and froze. The sound became louder and louder until a pair of Red Kingdom scouts literally stumbled upon us.

The first one yelped and ran backwards, only to trip over a fallen log, but the other one brandished his sword pointed it at us, unaware that we probably outnumbered him 10 to 1.

Nos shot an arrow that sunk into the soldier that tripped and he died with hardly a sound. The second soldier made a lot more noise as he screamed before a Green Kingdom soldier stabbed him with his knife.
