The Return

"What?" Said Hal, "How did they know. You didn't do anything suspicious, did you?"

I quickly told Hal about how I eavesdropped on Ivor and overheard his conversation. Hal's grip on his spear tightened after I told the story.

"If what you said is right," Hal replied, "We need to get out of the Red Kingdom as soon as possible. Ivor will send his soldiers to look for us. We should get Nos and the others too."

I nodded and we started gathering our stuff. I left my old sword in the room, since I now had Loth strapped on my belt. I would have to study the sword once we get back to the Green Kingdom.

After we finished gathering our supplies, we slowly looked down the hall to see if anyone was there. Upon seeing no guards, we slowly crept forwards, with a giant spear in Hals hands and Loth in mine.

We met our first guards when we turned a corner and literately bumped into them. They quickly slung their spears off their backs, but lucky for us, the big spears were basically useless in the tight corridor that we were in. I cut them down before they could warn anyone else about where we were.

Later, we encountered another set of guards this time though, they didn't even try to fight and ran down the corridor. Hal threw his spear and hit one of them, but the other one managed to get away.

"Great," Said Hal," Now they'll raise the alarm and soon, everyone well be after us."

As if on cue, alarm bells started sounding. These were high pitched screeching noises that cut through the air. We sprinted along the halls, trying to find the exit to the maze of halls. I glanced back and saw that a couple guards were running after us. More and more streamed out of the halls and joined them. Luckily, they were wearing heavy armour and they kept bumping into each other in the narrow halls.

Suddenly, we pushed open a set of doors and daylight flooded in. It must have been one of the side entrances, because it looked different from the one that we entered from. We kept running until we saw Nos and waved him over.

"What happened?" Nos said, jogging over with the rest of our troops, "we heard the alarms sounding and we raced here was fast as we could."

"I'll tell you later," I said, "Right now, we need to get to the harbor and leave. Now."

Nos glanced over my shoulder and saw the Red Kingdom soldiers pushing their way through the crowds and towards us. We all got the message and sprinted through the large crowd that gathered to see what was happening.

After a couple minutes, the harbor came into view. It was a giant dock with at least hundreds of ships all parked in various places around the place. People were going running around, unloading cargo from most of the ships. At the very end of my vision, there was a fleet of warships. They were much more superior and effective than the Gray Kingdom ships that we rode on.

Row after rows of gleaming cannons sparked in the heavy sun. Many of the ships were well trimmed and light for combat. There was one ship that stood out though. It had the masthead of a dragon. On the sides there was a gleaming name: The Gallion.

"That ship!" I shouted over the wind, "It's the fastest!"

Nos nodded and we all changed our course towards the ship. Suddenly, another group of Red Kingdom soldiers bolted in front of us from a hidden alley. We crashed into them and started fighting. If they delayed us a second longer, the main bulk of the army would over run us and slaughter us.
