The Red Kingdom

The Green Kingom had a new King. Ever since King Pelias betrayed us and left, the survivors of the Green Kingdom had a vote and elected a new king. Since most of the royal palace had been burned down in the attack, we moved our headquarters to a equally large storage building that used to contain weapons.

A I walked into the new throne room, I noticed that a lot of the nobles and councilors were giving me grateful looks. They probably were glad that we chased the Red kingdom soldiers away before they were brainwashed too.

"Lenard Danson," Said Harman, who was the new Green Kingdom king, "Our kingdom owes you a great debt of thanks to you and the soldiers of the Silver Chain, who helped rescue us from the Red Kingdom!"

A bunch of people stood up and started clapping, but they sounded like they were being forced to do it.

"However," Harman continued, narrowing his eyes, "We must discuss our next moves. As we all know, the Green Kingdom is in great trouble. Our greatest, and only ally, the Gray Kingdom has been invaded. Our lower regions were recently liberated, but our troops still remain short. Even with the aid of the Silver Chain, the Red Kingdom still far outnumbers us."

"Um," Hal said, raising his hand, "How come no matter how many troops we have, the Red kingdom still always outnumbers us?"

"We're not sure, " Harman admitted, "Either The Red Kingdom surely has been secretly training an army over the years, which I find unlikely, or there is a secret ally they have that keeps on shipping them troops."

"Anyways, " Harman said ,"The only way to end this war is to attack the Red Kingdom directly."

"Again?" I questioned, "Didn't you see how badly that went, when we attacked their capitol, and that was before we were stripped of nearly all our troops!"

"Believe me, Lenard, I understand, " Harman said, "But that was when King Pelias, that traitor was secretly informing the Red Kingdom of all our plans. This time, the Red Kingdom won't suspect a thing.

"How many men can we muster?" I asked, "The Red Kingdom won't fall easily. We definetly can't finish it all in one go. We'll have to first breach the wall, then once the outer layer is ours, we can then start taking the capitol."

"That's fine," Harman said, "We can gather around 2,000 men, with cannons, catapults and other equipment."

"2,000 men," Nos said, "Thats way more than the troops we've been given on our previous missions."

"The Green Kingdom has garrisons everywhere, " Harman explained, "All we had to do was simply order them back to join ou r new grand army."

"All right, " I said , "Sounds good, when do we leave?"

"Glad you asked, " Harman said smiling.

"I can't believe that he asked us to leave immediately," Nos muttered as we trudged through the grasslands of mainland Gala.

"Hey, at least he gave us plenty of troops to take the Red Kingdom," I said, "We can probably win this fight."

We walked in silence after that. The mainland of Gala is pretty nice, if you like endless hills and grasslands. Occasionally, there would be a small forest or village that we would walk past, but we never bothered to stop, after our last encounter with friendly villagers from Mt. Orb. After a couple more hours of walking, we saw a couple of Red Kingdom scouts riding horses in the distance. We tried to stay hidden in a small valley between the hills, but it was kind of hard to hide 2,000 soldiers. They kept riding closer and closer until they spotted us. Our archers quickly fired a volley and the scouts collapsed off their horses.
