Chapter 36

The Decepticons were put into stasis pods as the group went their separate ways. Nightback ran up to Steeljaw and Strongarm as they were heading to their quarters, "Mom, Dad, you're back!" He exclaimed with excitement.

You were right, he does look like both of us.

Yep.

Steeljaw picked up Nightback and they walked inside, "Nightback, I need you to go to your room for now and let Mom and me talk."

"Is Mom okay? She looked confused."

"There was just an incident, but don't worry I'll work it all out," Steeljaw says as he puts Nightback down.

"OK," he replied softly as he went to his room.

"He is cute."

"Yes, he is," Steeljaw replied quietly as he sat on the couch, offering her to take a seat.

Strongarm sits on the couch next to him, "How did we meet?"

"Under the most unique of circumstances. You were on patrol when you found me, I was about to free a Decepticon when you approached me."

"You were a 'Con criminal?"

"Yes."

"How did you get me to fall in love with you?"

"It was at one point when Thunderhoof and the other members of my pack were being held captive here, I tricked you, the lieutenant, and the Dinobot. I showed up in front of your gate injured, when you all opened it I fell to the ground and passed out. But before I passed out I mumbled the name of a Decepticon I was supposed to meet, Scorponok, and claimed he attacked and injured me. You three left to find him after putting me in a stasis pod, but I managed to get out of the pod and freed the members of my pack. Eventually, you figured out that it was a trick and you came back to fight me. You managed to beat me." He let out a soft chuckle, "And I said something that changed both of our lives."

"What was that?"

"I'm starting to like you, Cadet." He smiled. He had been so naïve about how he had felt back then.

Strongarm giggled, "I can see how that would have gotten me."

"You thought it was just a taunt back then. It took me some time to realize how I felt about you but when I did I knew I couldn't live a life without you," he said, looking at her lovingly.

Strongarm blushed, "How did we build a relationship if we were on opposite sides?"

"Metalsound helped us see each other in secret." He smiled for a moment before he looked away from her, "But Bumblebee found out about us and told me that I wasn't going to see you again. Out of fear and anger, I made a terrible mistake. I kidnapped you and took you away to Decepticon Island. There were other Decepticons there under the leadership of Saberhorn and Glowstrike. I hid you in my room." He paused, feeling ashamed for what he had done and how he had reacted, "You were upset, and rightfully so."

"Really?"

"Yes, it took some time but we managed to get through what had happened. I was having second thoughts on my original plans for taking over the planet, I realized that I couldn't have both you and control over the world. I chose to be with you, Strongarm."

Strongarm turned away from him as she blushed even more. I love you so much, Strongarm.

Strongarm looks at him again, "I wish I could say the same, but I don't even know."

Steeljaw sighed as he looked to the floor, trying to hide the hurt in his optics, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that."

"No, I'm glad you did so I know. So, you were my first kiss and everything?"
