The Muffin Date and The Girl That's... What?!

━━━━━━━━━

I flipped over on the couch, my neck killing me for some strange reason. My eyes shot open as I let my hand rest over my chip. If my neck was hurting, this was not good. There could be something wrong with my freaking bionics. I stood up from the couch and got into my capsule, hitting the diagnostics button too quickly for me to recall. The scan began to run over my body as I closed my eyes. I knew Chase gave me new abilities last week, but I should have been okay by now. He said that they should have set in within twenty four hours. So what else could be wrong?

We had decided that if we all went to class for a week, it would probably be for the best. Mr. Davenport had needed to fix a few things about the arena while we were in class. So it was practically impossible that we showed up there in the first place. We have training in one of the extra gyms as well. Today was Friday again, meaning it would be our last day of regular classes before Chase pulled us out after lunch for our first training.

"Problem found." The capsule spoke back. My eyes widened as I leaned in to read the small words on the holographic screen that had popped up.

"Sleep in your capsule." I read aloud. I rolled my eyes at this thing. I hated it. So bossy. I clicked the change clothes button, the capsule changing me into my outfit for the day just before the door popped open to reveal Marcus. I frowned and pushed the door open to ask him why exactly he was here. I would have been expecting Chase.

"Hey." He greeted with a smile, his hands behind his back. I nodded to him, slightly scared at what he could be holding. It could be anything knowing him. Which, I didn't know him all that well.

"Hey yourself. What's behind your back?" I asked worriedly. I was hoping this wasn't another simulation thing that Marcus had planned for me. Chase and I hadn't even talked since he told us we were going to start training. Marcus shook his head, a small smile on his face.

"It's nothing dangerous. Thanks for the faith in me by the way." Marcus teased before pulling a bag that looked like it was from a bakery from behind his back. "I brought us breakfast."

"That was sweet of you, Marcus." I thanked before motioning that we leave. I didn't want to be late, and we could eat on the way there. He nodded and jumped ahead of me, pulling the door open before I could get a chance. He held the door as I walked out into the hallway. The door shut quietly behind us as Marcus reached into the bag and pulled out a chocolate chip muffin. I could already feel my mouth watering.

"I figured that you would want the chocolate one, but you can have my blueberry muffin if you want." He teased as we walked out into the early morning sun. I shook my head, reaching for the muffin he had offered me before we continued on down the path to school. It was pretty cool that we only had one text book and no homework at this school. I hadn't used my backpack practically my whole time here. Just in occasions.

"So, how's your week back at school been?" Marcus teased as we ate our muffins. I shrugged. It had been okay. Not as much fun as just hanging out with the guys and painting walls, but okay.

"It could be better. But it will be when we finally start training today." I said, almost jumping out of my shoes. Marcus laughed and nodded.

"I have been looking forward to it all week." Marcus agreed as we continued on. There were a few kids laying out on the grass along the sides of the sidewalk that seemed to be about fifteen feet wide. The sidewalk was like a large walkway that led up to the large school that was the bionic academy.
