Why If It Isn't Chase Davenport

━━━━━━━━━

I walked into my dorm room and threw my bag onto the couch in the corner of my room. Turns out my parents paid extra to allow me to live without a roommate. I frowned as I stared off at my capsule. I had never gotten used to sleeping in it. I always tried, but failed. I had been sleeping in a bed my whole life, and now, I was stuck in that thing.

Having my parents get me bionics seemed to be a huge waste to me. I had told them specifically that I didn't want them, though they had gone out of their way to push me into it. Within a year of the bionic revolution, I had gotten bionics. I've only had my bionics for a year now. Much to my discontent. I hated it. Always having to use my speed whenever someone asked.

"Hello?" Someone called from outside my door. I sighed and walked over, pulling it open with ease before a familiar smirk rested on the other side.

"Why, if it isn't Chase Davenport." I teased. He rolled his eyes as I continued, "How was it that I've been able to avoid seeing you for four months, and now I have to see you all day?" Chase smiled slyly as he let his arm rest against the the doorframe, acting as though I wanted to see his muscles flex in his right arm as he did so. Not that I didn't... Stop it!

"Because maybe, I've been in control of our meetings this whole time." Chase replied, a serious yet sarcastic tone to his voice. I rolled my eyes as I leaned back against my door, him pushing past me right after he did so. "You live alone," He pointed out as he spun around in the center of the room. His eyes trailed around the room, almost looking for something. I nodded, closing the door behind me as I walked over to him.

"I do. Now, why are you here?" I asked, trying to get to the point. I could barely stand being in his company, while at the same time, couldn't get enough of it. But now there was Marcus in the equation... And Adam. All of which exhumed this strange confidence that I had never been attracted to before. My last boyfriend was an introverted artist that barely ever said three words to me unless inspiration hit. Yet, here I am, fawning over Chase Davenport and every other bionic in these stupid games. Except Leo, I'm actually hoping he only sees me as a friend. I couldn't stand the kid otherwise.

"I'm here, to tell you something." Chase said simply, letting his arms fall to his sides as he turned to face me. I nodded, trying to get a better grasp on the situation. He had a certain complexity about him at the moment that I couldn't stand.

"Chase, spit it out." I whined. I was getting tired of this back and forth with me and him. The kid never seemed to answer any of my questions unless one of the other guys was around.

"I wanted to see if you had met Leo... Or talked to the other guys since the incident at lunch." Chase snapped. I frowned as I looked over into his eyes. He was telling the truth, that much was obvious.

"No, I haven't. But I wouldn't exactly call lunch an incident. You could have caught me. Adam was simply gentlemen enough-"

"Don't, compare me to him." Chase interrupted suddenly. He wore a look of pure hatred on his face as he did so. I rolled my eyes.

"Sorry, I didn't know you hated him so much." I teased. He rolled his eyes as he slowly made his way towards the door once more.

"Are you doing anything right now?" He asked, his sights slowly meeting mine in a desperate way. I shook my head without a second thought. Something about his look was drawing me to him.
