Life is Like a Maze
━━━━━━━━━
He hit the ground with a thud, spitting out a bit of dust from the ground above into the new floor he had landed on.
"God." He mumbled in annoyance as he began to pick himself up off the ground. He flipped over, sitting up and looking from side to side, only to see a small bit of light off to the far left. He squinted as he tried to figure this all out. "From the arena to this?" He whispered before hearing a door open at his right. He spun around, holding his hand up to shield his eyes from the bright before seeing a figure walk down the apparent stairs that stood beneath them. He frowned before the light switch was turned, revealing his one and only brother. "Marcus?" He called, receiving a light laugh from his younger brother.
"And how did you get out?" Marcus teased as he made his way over to his brother and held out his hand to him. Adam rolled his eyes and took his brother's hand, jumping up off the ground quickly and brushing himself off. He frowned as he realized he and his brother were dressed the same still.
"Wait," Adam left off as he motioned to the games suit on his brother, "Wouldn't you have taken that off already? You've been out for a couple hours." Adam pointed out. Marcus shook his head before waving towards the door.
"It's a promotional thing. People want our autographs and what not." Marcus went on as he lead his brother out from the underneath of the arena. He and Adam walked in silence until they hit the doors to the auditorium. Adam frowned.
"Why?" Adam asked as he pointed to the doors. He had no idea why they would need to be in there.
"This is where we'll watch the rest of the games play out. They have a massive TV." Marcus teased as he opened the door to the screaming fans. Adam waved simply before the crowd made a path for them.
"So this is what you've been doing?" Adam asked with a snide smile Marcus' way. Marcus sent a glare to his brother as they took their seats next to Vice Principle Perry.
"Maybe. But not for long."
*I glanced up to see the sky turning from light to dark, just barely hearing the small announcement over the loud speaker saying, "You thought you knew the arena? Think again!" Before feeling Chase pull me up from the ground, wrapping his arm around my waist, and geoleap us to the back edge of the arena, the entire thing flipping before our very eyes and turning into something I never could have imagined.
I closed my eyes as a bright light flashed in front of me, shielding my eyes with my arms before the light disapeared. I could feel my heart beating and my breathe turning raged as I finally opened my eyes and looked to see Chase just as confused as I felt.
"Chase..." I left off as I looked around, feeling like we were in a completely different place. Were we even in the arena?
"Yeah?" Chase breathed, his arm still wrapped tightly around my hips.
"What just happened?" I asked numbly before looking right at him. He shook his head as he scanned his eyes over the new area around us. Instead of the two of us standing at the edge of the arena in the woods, we were now at the bottom of a huge hill. I frowned as I tried to see what was at the top. We would have to get up there to see it.
"This is just my assumption based on the whole, arena flipping thing. But I think this is the new arena." Chase spit out before dropping his arm from my side. I huffed and let my eyes rest on him.
