Josh's POV
After Maya came to my place last night I started thinking. How could Lucas do that to her? How could Riley be so mean to Maya, her best friend? So I figured I am going to take matter into my own hands. I wake up at 7:00 am. I see Maya sleeping peacefully in my bed and decide not to wake her. I get out of the bed quietly, get changed, grab my bag and start to walk out when,
Maya: Josh, where are you going?
Josh: I have to get something don't worry, I'll be back.
Maya: Ok, hurry.
I kiss her on the forehead and she falls back asleep. I walk out of my apartment and lock the door behind me. I catch the subway to the Matthews apartment. I walk to the door and Corey buzzes me in. I walk up and Corey opens the door.
Corey: Hey Josh what are you doing here?
Topanga: Hey Josh.
(Corey closes the door and I walk in.)
Josh: Hey Topanga. I wanted to talk to Riley.
Corey: She's not home.
Josh: What where is she?
Corey: At Maya's.
Josh: No she isn't!
Topanga: Yes she is Riley told me last night she went to her house for a sleepover.
Josh: Well she isn't! I know because--
Corey:--Josh?
Josh: It's nothing.
Corey: Josh, is this about Maya?...
Topanga: Josh?...
Josh: It's not for me to say. Tell her call me when she gets home.
Corey: Ok, I will.
I walk out of the apartment and walk back onto the street. I think where Riley might be and like Maya told me last night she was at Lucas's place so I walk to his place. I don't quite remember which number apartment he is on but I go to the 25 floor. I go up to 1, 3, and 5. Finally I go to 2507 and I knock. Lucas opens the door.
Lucas: Josh what are you doing here?
Josh: Where's Riley?
Lucas: I don't know.
Josh: I don't believe you.
(I walk inside and start yelling Riley.)
Josh: Where is she?!!
Lucas: I don't know
(I grab Lucas's shoulders and bang him against the wall.)
Josh: I'm gonna ask you one more time. Where is Riley?!!
Lucas: She left a few minutes. Said she needed to go home.
Josh: Did she sleep over?...---Answer me!
Lucas: Yes, ok? She said Maya told her she was pregnant and she said how we are supposed to be together not her and me.
(I let go of him.)
Josh: Sit.
(We sit down in the living room.)
Lucas: I'm here for Maya and you know that.
Josh: No, I don't. You mess with my family you mess with me!
Lucas: I would nev---
Josh:--You stay the hell away from Maya and Riley! Because I swear if anything happens to either one of them I will hurt you.
(I stand up and start walking to the door.)
Lucas: Josh?
Josh: What?
Lucas: I'm sorry about Maya. I never meant to take advantage of her like that. We were drunk and I was hurt and she was hurt and we both just did it.
Josh: You shouldn't be telling me this.
Lucas: I know but, I never meant for any of this to happen.
Josh: I know you didn't mean for this to happen. But the problem is it did happen and you made it happen.
Lucas: Please tell Maya I'm sorry, but Riley needs me more right now.
Josh: So you're gonna leave Maya?
Lucas: Is there another option? I already hurt her.
Josh: There is always another option.
I walk out the door and walk downstairs. I know Corey and Topanga are going to kill Riley when they hear about this so I'll let them handle it. I go back home and I don't see Maya there.
Josh: Maya?
Maya: In here.
(I can hear her vomiting so I go inside. I hold her hair back as she finishes rinsing her mouth. We go to the living room and we sit down.)
Maya: Josh?
Josh: Yes Maya?
Maya: Where were you this morning?
Josh: I had to do something but everything's ok now.
Maya: Good because I need you.
Josh: That's why I'm here.
(I go to school because it is a Friday but I come back and we eat dinner and talk more. We talk about the baby and what she is going to do with it. She says she still wants to keep it. I lie down and watch a movie.)
Maya: Josh?
Josh: Yes?
Maya: Remember when I told you I was pregnant and you told me you had to tell me something, what is it?
(I sigh and think. I was going to confess to Maya that I loved her. I still do but not the same way. I mean how can I, she's pregnant.)
Josh: You want the truth?
Maya: Yes, I need the truth.
Josh: I was gonna tell you that I loved you and I want to be with you.
(And with that she leans in and kisses me. But I stop her.)
Josh: Maya. You are really vulnerable right now.
Maya: No I'm not. I would've said I love you. I do love you. Lucas and I was a mistake, an accident. I love you Josh.
Josh: I love you too.
(We kiss again and start making out but I stop because I--I-can't do this. I can't kiss her in this situation. I put her to bed and I lie next to her and fall asleep.)
