He was extremely red and Lauren took a swift breath. She walked to him while Yuta was very torn between glancing at her and at Sicheng. So Jae lowered his head and slipped to a corner of the room.
"Boy you can imagine a routine and dance solo so far," said the teacher and Jae nodded and got up.
He slipped to the back of the class and pretended he was stretching, the chaos and noise in his head made it impossible for him to focus. He saw how Lauren's face was filled with pain whenever she made a pirouette or a rapid move and Taeil seemed worried but she lifted her head glancing to the back at Yuta and Jae knew the anger kept her going.
Ten and Rachel were deep in the routine and Ten taught her complicated moves while Johnny and Hansol argued loud over who will be the leader in the team. Not far from Jae Sicheng made a acrobatic flip, he and Yuta seemed to cooperate well as both were dancers from heart and Jae caught Sicheng smiling to himself when Yuta grabbed his hand, and told him something. Was there more about them than they both would like to admit.
Jae remembered how they communicated without problems despite Sicheng's language barrier from the first time they've met.
It was a long evening and Jae as very happy when he left the class. Taeil offered Lauren to bring her to the university doctor but she refused.
She ran to Jae and seemed even more pale and trembling than before.
"We must hurry as long as he's busy with him," she said glancing around.
"What do you..." asked Jae but she grabbed his hand and ran down the corridor.
They crossed the main grounds and reached building B that looked a lot better than his. It was like a little villa with bright new yellow walls outside, each room had a private balcony and Jae guessed it was where the rich students lived, but Sicheng rather renovated their room and moved into their dorm.
Building B even had a lift and they reached floor two quickly. Lauren took a key and hurried to a room. It was like a apartment with a living room and bedroom and she stormed the bedroom grabbing all her clothes out of the wardrobe and throwing it into a suitcase. Jae noticed Yuta's clothes all over the floor.
"Help me pack!" said Lauren running to the wardrobe but she winced and grabbed her back again.
"You need to see a doctof," said Jae.
"Not now," Lauren opened a shelve and threw pretty lingerie into a opened suitcase causing Jae to feel uncomfortable, he never was around girls much and their intimate stuff like underwear was intimidating, so he walked to the wardrobe and took out everything that looked like girls' clothes and tried to fold it, but Lauren shouted at him telling him to hurry and he threw everything that looked like hers into the bags and suitcases.
They worked in a hurry and she ran to the bathroom and came back carrying tons of make up stuff.
"Whefe will you live?" asked Jae glancing at her.
"I dont' know yet, a bench in the grounds will be good so far before I'll figure something out," she said.
"Please Laufen talk to him, I bet Taeil and Sicheng won't accept you in ouf foom, but I can tfy to..."
"It's lovely but no, I couldn't stand to look at Sicheng," she said.
She closed the bag and Jae helped her as the suitcases were very full and she looked around the room making sure she hasn't forgotten anything, then she hesitated and grabbed something that looked like Yuta's t-shirt and hoodie from the floor and hid it in the last bag before he closed it.
Jae couldn't hide a chuckle he would do the same if it was his goodbye with Taeyong, at least steal a piece of his clothes that would smell like him but Lauren lifted a big bag and winced so Jae hurried to help and took it from her.
"Don't caffy it I will," he said.
She tried to smile but ony a few tears rolled down her face and she grabbed a small bag and suitcase and ignored the pain while Jae took the rest fo the luggage.
This speed packing opened an old wound up, he remembered all to good the evening when his mum found out him and Taeyong were dating and kicked him our from his parents' house, he had a few moments to move out, and the same night Taeyong came to pick him up but kicked him out of the taxi on Taeil's driveway, and it was Taeil who took care of him and housed him for half a year.
Jae has seen his mum once since, his father came one late evening and apologized and they were in good terms, texting and meeting up whenever they had time, but his mum ignored his existence ever since. Jae tried to not to think about it when he pulled the suitcase towards the door but it opened suddenly and Yuta went in.
He stopped and grasped the situation immediately.
"What do you think you're doing!" he asked Lauren in a unnaturally high voice.
"Moving out," sha said not looking at him.
"But... but, we've never broke up," stuttered Yuta.
"Oh, really!" she stepped to the door. "So I'm breaking up," she carried the bag to the corridor and Jae hurried behind her.
Soon they reached the lift and Lauren was still shaking but not crying and Jae knew with the girl so close to a break down he decided to keep her side as long as they won't find a place for her to stay, he was ready to give her his bed if there won't be any other option.
He could sleep with Taeil as they had mastered sleeping together on small beds during the last six months.
Soon him and Lauren reached the grounds filled with the setting sunlight and a colder wind caressed their backs. Lauren walked swiftly till she found an alley with only three benches at the back of the library building.
"This looks ok," she said jumping one the bench and Jae shivered.
"Don't be silly you can't sleep hefe," he said.
"It's ok," she said and tears rolled down her cheeks.
"Come up with me we will find a solution," he begged but she shook her head.
