"He finished the Art School as a vocalist, is in the vocal department at university, got a record deal with the best company in our country, made his own label, sang on my album, made a hit single with Taeil, I wrote a bunch of song for him with not a single r-word so no one would even notice his uniqueness," said Taeyong and Jae shivered.

His mother called him damaged, Taeyong called it uniqueness.

"Every person I know, that knows him accepts it fully, even Yuta who hates Jae since kindergarten, but you can't, I don't understand," Taeyong looked at her.

"I... I... My mother plays violin in the orchestra, and I... I dreamed to be a singer, but my father never allowed me, he forced me to give in on my dream and become an accountant in his company, and I hoped my son... but than he could't pronounce some stupid 'r' and I knew it will never happen, we were cursed, I was cursed, me, my whole family," she broke down completely.

"Mrs.," Taeyong spoke gently while Jae was sitting with his jaw dropped, he has never knew his mum was a singer.

"Instead of trying, instead of telling the truth you just broke him, gave him fear instead of courage, showed him love is a horrible thing because it isn't for free, and he thought to be loved he must fulfill some unreachable things like pronouncing right. Do you know that my parents had kicked me out when I was sixteen, because I dropped out of school to work on my music career. I had no money just the demos I had recorded, a few friends, drug addicts from my neighborhood, that's it, still I never gave in. I went from audition to audition, worked two part time jobs, and wrote song after song, I was nineteen when it finally happened and David Jacksonville, the famous star maker auditioned me and wanted me in his company. I've sold more singles than any other artist in this country, but do you think my parents ever came to me, called, or better apologized? No of course not, they also have their own story their own shadows and demons that are behind it, but I don't know them so I'm living with the idea that I'm damaged, but it's not me who's damaged, it's the thing, that they did everything to damage me."

Jae felt tears rolling down his face, Taeyong had never told anything about his story to anyone including him, yet he was pouring it out in front of Jae's mom, the last person Jae wanted to see.

"Do you know why Jae can't pronounce 'r'?" asked Taeyong quietly and Jae's mom trembled.

"How can you know?" she said.

"I talked to Dr. Bronson, and a few other people," said Taeyong.

"So?" Jae's mom concentrated on the boy's face.

"Because the word 'mother' includes the letter 'r'," a silence fell and she inhaled sharply. "It's also the reason why he's gay, he's afraid of women because he's afraid of you. Dr. Bronson had told me about an early memory Jae had shared with him. One day he was playing hide and seek in the house he was about three, and he hid on the bottom of his father's wardrobe, he heard you screaming looking for him and at one point he was too afraid to come out, he was so afraid he was sure you will kill him when you will catch him, so he hid even more in the clothes."

Taeyong was speaking and Jae swallowed, he remembered it like yesterday, the fear was still there whenever this memory came back.

"When you found him you pushed the wardrobe door and pulled him out, you started to hit him and screamed till your husband stopped you and Jae tried to do the ony thing a little boy could to defend himself calling you by who you are to him, but he said he only could pronounce 'mothef', because the 'r' sound blocked completely, because of this trauma," Taeyong finished. "And years later you gave him another traumatizing memory throwing him out because he loved someone and allowed himself to express his love. I actually don't know why I came here to ask you to try to get in touch with him, don't do it you don't deserve him," Taeyong got up.

Jae's mom was too stunned to speak while his father couldn't move so he just stood there with he phone raised in his hands.

"What are you doing sir?" said Taeyong and Jae saw his hands reaching for the phone. "Are you crazy..." but the rest was cut off abruptly and the screen became black. Jae was sitting there unable to move while tears were rolling down his face. He wasn't able to do anything after the shock he went through, and Sicheng found him like this two hours later and shook him awake from his hypnosis.

"Jae speak, Jae!" Sicheng was rubbing his hands so they would become warm again.

Jae took a breath in, he leaned in grabbing the skinny boy and hugging him tightly, he knew he won't be ever able to speak about what he has just heard, maybe with Taeyong because he knew everything.
