IMAGINE: Judy and her brother Jack were doing the dishes. She had just moved into the neighborhood and didn't know many people. "So have you met anyone in the neighborhood?"her brother inquired. "A lot expect the man across the street I hear he works at The Luxor" Judy remarked. "Maybe you should go over there and introduce yourself" her brother suggested. "I tried but nobody was home" Judy stated. "Well I have to go I'll tell mom you say hi" Jack remarked.
He gave her a kiss and left. An hour after Jack left Judy saw the lights in the house across the street come on. She looks out her window as a man getting out of a car than goes to the back and takes out a small boy. Judy could tell how happy the man is with the child. She grabs her jacket and goes outside. "Hello" Judy remarked smiling.
"Oh hi you must be my new neighbor I'm Criss". "Judy and this must be your son". Criss picked him up. "Yes this is my son Johnny can you say hi" Criss asked. Johnny waved at her. "Well it's nice to meet you Johnny and may I say if you ever need a baby sitter I can help"Judy stated smiling. "I'll keep that in mind thanks for the offer Judy I need get this guy to bed". "All right have a good sleep Johnny and I'm right across the street if you need me Criss" Judy said.
"Thanks" and they went in. Around three in the morning a knocking came to the door. Judy went to the door and saw Johnny at the door. "Johnny what are you doing here?". "Something wrong with daddy" he remarked. Judy grabbed her coat and took Johnny's hand. When they came in she asked Johnny where his daddy is. He pointed to a door. "Christopher!!" you call out. "Judy help!"he called back. "Johnny you stay down here I'm going to check on your daddy". He nodded and sat on the couch.
When she got up she finds Criss on the floor. "What happened?". "I got up to check on Johnny when my legs just gave out now I can't feel anything below my waist" he stated as Judy grabbed the phone. "Hello yes I need an ambulance right away my neighbor can't feel his legs". When the EMTS came they loaded Criss up but before he left he asked Judy to take care of his son until he could get a hold of his family or his mother. "Don't worry Criss just get better" Judy said. "Bye bye" Johnny said waving at his dad. Criss waved back as they closed the doors. After that she sat next to Johnny who looked scared.
"Don't worry about your dad he'll be OK now do you want try to go to sleep". "Me want daddy" he remarked as tears fell down his face. "Come here Johnny" and hugged him. She assured him that Criss would be all right. She went to Johnny's room and put him to bed. "Now I'm going to be on the couch if you need me all right". He nodded as he closed his eyes. The next day Judy was playing with the dogs and Johnny when she heard someone clearing his throat. Johnny turned around and saw his uncle JD. "Uncie" Johnny said running to him.
"Hey Johnny you must be Judy my brother told me how you helped him". "Yes you must be Johnny's uncle how is Criss?". "Good Johnny why don't you go play with dogs while we talk adult stuff"he inquired. He let Johnny down and he went to play as they sat down. "Criss had a disk in his back that was putting pressure against his spine that's why he lost the ability to walk or stand for that matter but I'm glad Johnny thought of getting you". "I just met them that day and I guess Johnny remembered that I said I lived across the street I even pointed to my house for some reason" Judy remarked.
"Johnny does have a good memory". "I should get going since you're here" Judy said. "Before you go Criss wants to talk to you and see Johnny". "Johnny come on daddy wants to see you" Judy call out. Johnny comes running to Judy and JD put on his shoes before leaving. At the hospital Criss is laying there as Judy come in. "Daddy" Johnny said as Judy follows him. "Hey buddy I missed you" hugging him. "I heard what happened I'm glad you're all right Criss"Judy said. "I wanted to thank you for helping me and taking care of Johnny last night". "She fun"Johnny stated. "Really". "I should get going JD is outside if you need him".
Judy start to leave until Johnny says stop. "Don't go" Johnny asked. "You like Judy watching you don't you" Criss said. Johnny nodded his head. "We go see red truck tomorrow". "You mean a fire truck?"Criss said. "My brother's a fire fighter I thought Johnny would like to see a fire truck and meet some fire fighters". "Judy do you mind watching Johnny until I'm strong enough to take care of him"Criss asked. "No I'd love that what about Johnny". "YEAH"Johnny said raising his hands in the air.
