IMAGINE: At a vet clinic a girl was doing some filing for her grandfather. "Sara can you take Bowser outside to see if he'll poop" someone called out. "All right". Outside she was walking the dog when Sara noticed a car speeding into the parking lot. "Miguel emergency!!"Sara called out. She ties Bowser up and ran over to a car as a man got out. "I need some help my dog was just hit by a car" he called out.
The man opened the door and Sara saw a German Shepard bloody and a bone sticking out of his leg. Miguel brought out a stretcher as her grandfather came out. "Please save him!!"the man called out as tears fell down his face. "We'll do our best" and brought him in. Sarah noticed the man looked wobbly so she helped him to a bench. "Why don't you sit here and I'll get you some water" she suggested. "Thanks". She brings Bowser in and grabbed a bottle of water for the man.
"Here you go" opening it for him. "Thanks" taking a drink. "How did this happen?" Sara asked. "Oso that's his name and my son were outside playing fetch and the ball went into street. My son went to get it as a car came out of nowhere but Oso pushed my son out the way and he got hit. I didn't even know they left the yard until I heard my son crying" he replied.
"Don't worry my grandfather is the best vet here" she assured the man, "I hope so for my son's sick and Oso been my son's guardian. My son was diagnosed with Leukemia and Oso just hangs with my son. He sleep in his room and if my son is throwing up or starts to cry Oso would go to my room he scratch on the door and start to bark loudly" wiping the tears away. "I'm going to see how Oso's doing so you just stay out here and take it easy" and went inside.
Sara goes into the back and sees her father checking the x-rays. "How's he doing?". "He has some bruised ribs and a broking leg I just hope I can fix it" he remarked. "You have to grandpa the dog is the man's son's guardian sort of his son has Leukemia and Oso that's his name looks over his son and let's the father know during the night if his son needs him" she replied. "Why don't you bring him into one of the rooms and I'll talk to him". "Ok" and went to get him.
Sara brings the man into a room and sits next to him for some support just in case. Her grandfather explains to him what's going on and what he has to do. "Please save him sir" the man remarked. "We'll do everything we can to save your dog". "Can I see him before I go?". Sara brings him to the cage Oso in. She opens the cage and the man kneels down. He scratches behind Oso's ears as he whimpers. "Be brave my strong bear" he whispered into his ear than kissed him on his forehead. Sara helps the man up and about to close the door when Oso starts to whimper.
"He hates being alone maybe that's why I adopted his sister and two other dogs" he jokily said. "Does he have a blanket or something with your scent on it". The man unzips his jacket and takes out a bandana. He wipes his forehead and arms with it. He gives it to Sara which she puts on the cage. "I'll see you soon Oso" and the man leaves. A few days go by and her grandfather fixed his leg. In his cage Oso wouldn't eat which made everyone including Sara nervous.
"Miguel where's the bandana that hung from Oso's cage". "I washed it". "Miguel that had his owner's scent on it. I think Oso misses his owner and friend"Sara said. "Why don't you give his owner a call and have them come down to visit Oso maybe that will make Oso's spirit raise" your grandfather suggested. "OK" and called them. A few minutes later the man comes with his son. "How's Oso doing?". "Considering what happened he's a lucky dog we fixed the leg so he'll have a cast on it but Oso misses you guys so much he won't eat so my granddaughter thought maybe seeing you guys might peak him up" her grandfather stated. "Come on" and bring them to the room.
They sit down as Sara gets Oso. When she brought him in the little boy gave Oso a hug. "Be careful buddy". The man kneeled on the floor as Oso limped over and started to lick him. "We miss you too buddy" patting him. "Daddy look he got yellow wrapped around his leg.". "That's his cast buddy". "Me sign it" he asked. Sara gave him a little marker and the little boy put a 'J' on it. The father chuckled as did the boy. "Let me try something" Sara suggested. She brings in a small bowl of dog food and once Oso smelled it he went right to the bowl and clean it. The boy and his father cheered as her grandfather came in.
"He ate clean the bowl and everything". "Take home please?" the little boy asked. "I think that's a great sign let me get his discharge papers". "Guess what buddy you're going home with us" as Oso's tail started to go nuts. A month after Oso's release Sara's grandfather gets a letter from Oso's owner telling him that Oso is doing great and keeping his son out of trouble. Inside was a check for your grandfather's non profit section of the clinic.
"Wow he even sent a check for the adoption area" showing Sara. "Grandpa I can't believe I didn't notice this I know this guy and his son". "What do you mean?" Miguel asked "Remember that magician we saw in Las Vegas a year ago". "Yea Criss Angel are you telling me that guy is him". "Yea I guess he got rid of the red streaks in his hair and I guess he wears contacts when he performs since he was wearing glasses here"she remarked.
