"Hello?" I ask as I answer my phone, and listen to the person on the other end. "Yes, this is her." I pause and listen to what they have to say. "That's great!" I squeal. "thank you, bye." I say as I hang up, and do a small dance in my room.
"What are you doing?" I here, as I turn around to face the door and see Jace.
"Guess what." I say, no longer dancing.
"What? it must be pretty good."
"That person, selling the building, she accepted our offer!" I said with excitement.
"Great!" He said, matching my excitement.
"Yeah, we can start doing stuff, later today."
"Awesome. When do you want to start working?"
"I'd like to go over and make a plan, maybe after lunch?" I suggested, more as a question than a statement.
"Sounds good, lets get some lunch."
"Cool." I say, as I walk towards him and we walk downstairs.
"Where do you want to go?" Jace asked, as we walked around town.
"I don't care, we can eat wherever."
"Ok, let's go here." Jace says, motioning towards the local burger place we were walking past.
"Ok." I say, as we walk in.
"We'll have the two burger meal, and an extra drink." Jace orders.
We get our food, and drinks and we sit down at a table in the back. I grab my burger off the tray, and unwrap the foil around it, as Jace does the same.
We both eat out burgers first, and as we finish, we both share the order of fries that came with the meal.
We joked around with each other, as we ate the fries. If I wasn't aromantic, and he wasn't gay, I would say this was a date. I guess it could've been like a friend date. Purely platonic.
"Ready to go?" Jace asks, as we pick up the trash from the table.
"Yep, lets go."
We walk out of the restaurant, and start walking to the building. It didn't take too long, since it's just outside of the main town. We walked inside, and started looking around.
"I want to put a desk over here." I say, as I walk through the front door to a wall in the main lobby. "It will look good in between these two hallways."
"Sounds good, I think that would work, and if new people come, they can get directions, or other information."
"Yeah, and the rest of the main lobby, should be set up like a living room. I want to make it as much like a home as possible."
"Ok, so couches and chairs and stuff like that?"
"Yeah, I think that would be nice, people can hang out and when someone comes in, they can see some of the people that live here."
"Sounds great." Jace agrees.
"Ok, next thing is obvious. I want all the rooms in the upper levels, to be bedrooms."
"Makes sense, and we don't have to do much work, since they are probably already set up to be bedrooms."
"Yeah, the place just needs a little touching up for our purpose."
"Sounds good, I'm glad we don't have to do much."
"The place really just needs furniture and a little cleaning."
"A lot of cleaning." Jace joked.
"It just needs a little work, but now we can go order some furniture."
"Ok, let's go order some."
"Ok, we have to meet with our sponsor first."
"Let's go." Jace said, as we started walking out.
We started walking, into town. Our sponsor wants us to talk with her, whenever we want to spend money, and she has to approve it.
"Hey." Jace said to get my attention.
"What?" I answered.
"We're almost there."
"Yep, we're almost there."
