Jupiter and I went out on the town. We walked around, and she showed me things to do during the day. We walked through town, doing stuff for a few hours. while we were there, Jupiter started acting weird.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Those are my parents." She said, pointing to some people in front of us.

"Really?"

"Yeah, what should we do?" She asked.

"This." I said, walking up to them, while Jupiter tried to stop me.
"Hey!" I yelled at them. "your daughter Jupiter is an amazing person, and you should be ashamed for what you've put her through." I scolded.

"Jupiter? We don't have a daughter named Jupiter." Her dad pretended as her mom just stood there, they pretended they didn't know her.

"Yeah, and she's great, and she doesn't need you. She has so many people that accept her!"

"I'm going to have to ask you kids to leave." Her dad said, just as a younger girl came out of a store.

"Come on, we're leaving." Jupiter's mom said to the girl.

They started walking, and the girl looked back at us and waved to Jupiter. Jupiter waved, and tried to smile, but her eyes filled with tears instead.

"Who was that?" I asked.

"That was my sister. She is going to be like me in a few years."

"She's pansexual?"

"She's something, but she said she would come find me when she gets kicked out."

"Oh."

"Well, we can probably go back now."

"Ok, if you think they will be there."

"Yeah, we can go back now."

We walked back, and Jupiter was a little distant and quiet. I just let her be, it seemed like seeing her parents really shook her up.

We finally got back to what I guess is our new home, and walked inside. She put on a fake smile, and she joked around with people, but I knew that it wasn't alright, inside she wasn't alright.

"Come on, let's go up to my room." She suggested.

"Ok." I said as I followed her upstairs.

"It's quieter here, and they should come up here soon." She said.

After a few minutes of silence, someone walked into the room.

"Ari, this is the person I'm dating." Jupiter said as she walked up to them.

"Oh, hi." I said, awkwardly.

"So you're her new friend."

"Yeah, and you live here?" I asked.

"Yep."

"What happened to you?"

"I told my parents I was agender."

"Oh, interesting."

"How did you end up here?"

"I came out to my parents as aromantic asexual."

"Wow, that's a tough one."

"Yeah. It's hard enough when you have to come out and then add on top of it that you have to explain what it is that you're coming out as."

"Yep, been there."

"Yeah. That's enough about my coming out experience and I assume yours went the same way or you wouldn't be here."

"Yep."

"So you two are dating?"

"Yeah."

"Cool." I said, trying to think of something to say to make it less awkward. "How did you two meet?"

"Jupiter came here a lot, before she got kicked out. I was already here, and we just got to know each other and become friends. Now we're more than friends."

"Interesting."

"Not really."

"I don't think I caught your name." I asked.

"River."

"That's actually a cool name."

"What? Did you think I'd have a weird name?" He joked.

"No, I just like it that's all."

"Thanks. It's one of the only things I got from my parents that I actually don't hate."

"Well, I think I'll go meet some other people. But I'll see you around River."

"Yeah, bye."

"Bye." I said as I left and then walked down the stairs.

I went into the living room, and sat on a couch. I didn't really talk to people so much, more like watched them. I sat still and silent, until a girl sat down next to me.

"Hey." She said, clearly intoxicated.

"What's up?" I asked, trying to make conversation. Social situations aren't my best.

"Why are you here?" She asked.

"I live here."

"Yeah, but why? I'm here because I came out as a lesbian."

"Oh, I came out of the closet, I got kicked out for being-"

"You look like you enjoy a fun time." She said, getting closer to me.

"I don't know, do you know fun things to do?"

"I'm fun." She said, as she sat in my lap, facing me.

"Umm, I'm-"

"You're looking for a fun time?"

"No, umm what's your name?" I asked, trying to change the subject as I tried to get out from under her.

"Kat." She said simply, not letting me get out from under her.

"Are you drunk?" I asked, getting more and more uncomfortable.

"Maybe a little." She answered.

"Cool, cool. Umm would you mind getting off me?" I asked, trying to be polite.

"But we were going to have a fun time." She said as she put her face really close to mine.

"No, we weren't."

"Hey, Kat has a new cat toy." I heard someone yell in joking way; and as he did, all eyes were on us.

"No, this is just a misunderstanding." I tried to explain, still trying to get out from under her.

"Come on, I want to have some fun." Kat said.

"You can, just not with me." I said, struggling to get out.

"Kat, She's asexual." I heard a friendly voice say.

"Jupiter?" I asked.

"Yeah." She said as she got Kat off of me.

"Bye." Kat whispered in my ear before running off.

"The newbie is asexual?" I heard someone say.

"I guess." I heard another unfamiliar voice say.

"What is asexual again?" Another asked.

It went on and on, until it got too overwhelming, and I ran out of the room crying. I went upstairs and laid face down on my bed, and cried.
