Chapter 9

Tessa"s POV

I entered my home to find my mom or sister but the person sitting on my couch made me stop in my mid-step. Once the persons eye landed on me, we both squeeked and ran towards each other hugging and jumping on the spot. It was my cousin and best friend Rachel. He was 5'7" with blond hair and a body to die for. We have been in touch through mail and calls. But seeing her in person made me so happy. After few minute we calmed down.

"Why didn't tell me you were coming?"

"It's a surprise. I missed you so much" she hugged me again.

I looked behind her to see my mom, Marie and Noah smiling at us. But Rachel's eyes were fixed behind me. Oh shit.. I forgot Ethan was here. I turned to look at his face which had an amused smile. I mouthed a 'sorry' to him. He just smiled and shook his head. My mom has already met him during our study times. I went near him and turned to look at my family.

"Guys this is Ethan. He is my friend from school"

"Hey guys" Ethan replied

"Ethan this is my sister Marie, her fiancé Noah and my best friend Rachel" I introduced pointing to them. Marie smiled; Noah waved in response while Rachel walked to him and looked him from head to toe. She licked her lips and smiled seductively at him batting her eyelashes. Typical Rachel. Let's just say she like to toy with boys.. When I turned to look at Ethan it was priceless. Rach ran her fingers on his lengthy hands "Hey there sexy boy" she said with a wink.

Ethan looked at me for help, but I looked down to hide my laughter. The almighty, hard and strong Ethan whom the whole scared was helpless in front of a girl. Priceless... in order to save him from more humor I pulled Rachel by her arms to stand next to me.

"Girls leave the poor boy alone. Have a seat Ethan. It's nice to see you again" my mom said with a smile.

Ethan said thanks and entered the hall. Me and Rach made our way to the kitchen. My mom insisted Ethan to stay for dinner which he agreed. Before I entered the kitchen I turned to see Marie and mom coming towards kitchen and the boys settling in front of the tv.

During dinner Rachel was looking at Ethan and winking at me. I just laughed silently and had my dinner. Dinner went well. After dinner I went to send off Ethan. Once outside I thanked him for saving me and taking care of me. He said it was his pleasure and thanked for the dinner and drove off. I went back inside to find Noah watching tv, they are staying tonight I guessed. I went and sat with him. He told mom has gone to bed and the girls were cleaning in kitchen.

"so.. want to tell me what happened and wher you were last night?"

"Um... nothing, I went to the party and stayed at my friend home. That's all" I said while picking on the loose thread on the sofa.

"Tessa I know when you lie. You nerver stsy outside let alone with a guy. Tell me what happened?"

Noah could find everything by just looking at your face. Guess I have to tell now. I let out a heavy breath and lay my head on his shoulder. He put his arm around my shoulder sor fupport. I told him everything from party, dance, drug, Matt's behavior, ethan saving me till dinner. When I didn't get any reply I looked up to see him in deep thoughts.

"What are you thinking about?"

"I never liked that Matt guy. Something was really wrong with him when I met him at the mall the other day. If I have know you were going to his party I wouldn't have let you or atleast warned you. Thank god nothing happened"

This is what I love about Noah. He is protective, caring and nice person just like my dad. Marie is lucky to marry him.

"I have been talking to Ethan today and he seems to be a good guy. I like him already but after hearing this I like him more" he said with a smile.

The girls joined us after finishing their work. We went to our rooms. Me and Rachel were in my room. Although we had a guest room she liked to stay with me. We got ready for bed.

"So... the hottie downstairs your boyfriend?" she asked me.

"No. he is my friend and we do project together."

"Oh ... ok good for me. I plan on riding him before I leave" she said with a wink

"I bet you won't get this one"

"Why so?"

"He never talks to girls"

"He's talking to you!" she said in a duh tone

"I'm his project partner" I told flopping on my bed.

"He is my project now. Let's see if he can escape my claws" she said while purring like a cat"

"Good luck on that"

"What about that Matt guy? You guys an item yet?"

I closed my eyes and told her what happened. When I opened my eyes, she looked like she would kill if Matt was here. Let me tell you she is a kick arse fighter. We update us with other news and went to sleep. Just before I drifted to sleep, my mobile blinked with a message from Ethan.

Thanks for the dinner and also thanks for letting me help you.

I laughed thinking what Rachel was planning on doing and replied him with a good night and fell asleep.

Sunday was full of shopping for the upcoming marriage. It's in a week and Rachel was staying till the wedding. We planned on going for a movie. Rachel bugged me to call Ethan and his friends. So here we are sitting in the theater. Marie, Noah, Liam and Mia on the row in front of us. Me, Ethan, Rachel and Seth in our row. Kyle and Leah had some work so it was just us. During the film I noticed Ethan pull back his hands whenever my hand touched his, as if he was shot by electricity. Whatever it was I'll have to ask about it later. Rachel tried to flirt and get his attention but failed miserably. He avoided her making sure not to hurt her feelings. That was so sweet of him. After the movie we went to dinner, surprisingly me and Ethan had same taste. Once dinner was over we went our separate ways for a good night sleep.
