Chapter 42

Tessa's POV

The next few days passed by with visits from my family and Ethan's. I was pampered by my boyfriend. He never let me get out of bed and took care of me well. I was able to walk now but my leg was still in cast. Ethan apologised to Seth who came to visit me. It was kind of funny and awkward, the big alpha apologising and all. But in the end all is back to normal. I also said my part of sorry to Seth, if hadn't told him to keep the secret he wouldn't have been hurt by Ethan. 

I was getting discharged tomorrow morning and right now I was chatting with Rachel and Mia. I came to know that werewolf pregnancy lasts only 6 to 9 months depending on the rank of the couple. Each full moon was special for the mated ones and they are bound to be together at that time. Rach was expecting her heat in a couple of days. The time during the heat results in more positive pregnancies. The days of heat depends on each pair, and so does the frequency for heat happening. Mostly it happens twice a year to once in two months. 

They said their goodbyes and went home when Ethan came back from taking care of his alpha duties. We had our dinner and went to bed. We were cuddled in the bed when Ethan told he had a surprise for me tomorrow. I tossed and turned trying to sleep but my mind was still thinking about the surprise. I'm absolutely not a patient person to wait for surprise. 

I turned to face him; his face was calm and sleeping peacefully. I thought about not waking him from sleep but my curiosity didn't allow it so I poked his cheeks. When I got no reply I tried to pry open his eyelids with my fingers. He chuckled holding me close and dipping his face to my neck. 

"Ethan..."  

"Hmm..." he replied sleepily. I poked all-over his face with my finger. 

"What are you think you are doing baby?" He asked peeking his eyes open. 

"Trying to wake you up" I said in a duh tone. 

"I got that but why?" 

"I can't sleep without know about the surprise. The wait is killing me. Please tell me"  

"It won't be a surprise if I told you now" he said rolling on his back and pulling me to his chest. 

"I know... but can't you tell me what it is so that I can sleep!" I asked giving him my best puppy dog face. 

He made a grunt noise and pulled me closer kissing my nose. "Well maybe I can give you a clue. But that's all you can get from me now" he said in a stern voice. 

I nodded eagerly on getting to know at least little info to help me sleep. 

"Ok. Well tomorrow after you get discharged from here, we are not going to your home or mine" 

When I frowned in confusion he smoothed my brows and continued to tell me "We are going somewhere for a week" 

"Like a vacation!" I asked excited. You see I basically love all vacations on any day of the year. When my dad was alive we'd go to the beaches and amusement park a lot because I just love water. 

"Yeah that's right. A vacation for just us both" he said with a smile and kissed my forehead. 

"Ok... where are we going?" 

"Uh-ah. Nope... no more I gave you the clue already and you can find the rest tomorrow. Now go to sleep" he said closing his eyes. 

I huffed and snuggled closer to him letting the little info I got guiding me to sleep. I dreamed of both of us on the beach playing in the ocean that night.  

I woke up to little kisses placed al-over my face and neck. I opened my eyes to see my handsome boyfriend trying to wake me with his kisses. 

"Good morning beautiful" he said pecking my lips. I pulled him back for more when he tried to pull back. 

"Now that's a good morning" I said breathlessly. 

He stood up and I saw he was showered and changed into a khaki chinos and full sleeve tee. The sleeve was pushed up to his forearm making him look hotter. I sat up and noticed the bags near the door. Those bags remained me of the vacation we are going today making my sleep vanish and dash to the bathroom to shower. Once I was showered and dressed, my mom came in to sign the papers and off we went. 

Ethan helped me settle in the car and buckled me up. He went to his side and did the same. We pulled out of the hospital and drove along the road passing the town sign. I turned to ask him where we were going but he shook his head even before I opened my mouth. Guess I have to wait till we get there. I placed my head on the window looking at the passing trees.  

I didn't know when I fell asleep but I was woken up with someone calling my name. I opened my eyes to find we have stopped and to see Ethan holding my door open waiting for me to wake up. I rubbed my eyes sleepily and stretched a bit. My butt and legs were asleep from the long travel. I got out the car but my legs wobbled making me fall into Ethan.  

He held me around my waist helping me stand up straight. When he found that it wouldn't work and lifted me up bridal style. He kicked the door close and turned around with me in his arms nuzzling my head in his crook of the neck. He took a few steps and the sound of waves made me straighten up. The sun was setting cutting off the light. But I could see the beach in front of me and I turned my head to see the most beautiful beach house I have ever seen making my jaws drop.
