——— 彼が変わったとき ———
It was not till a full week of regretting that Megan finally allowed whoever wished to see her visit her.
She couldn't stand looking at the four walls of her hospital room, playing the fact that she killed her brother over and over again like a broken recorder.
She didn't want to talk nor think about it.
Unfortunately, somebody would always make it the talk of her town again.
And that somebody was her father.
Megan's father had visited her a day after she finally stopped refusing visitors to come and see her.
When he came in, Megan didn't recognise him at all.
He looked different.
He looked like a changed man.
His brown hair was ruffled like that of a bird's nest. He wore a blue navy shirt that hadn't been ironed and some old jeans that had sagged out in weird places, accompanied with some black sneakers.
But the most distinctive feature that told Megan something was off was his eyes.
His electric blue eyes that was once filled with emotions, now stared blankly at Megan as he stood beside her bed.
"Dad?"
"Megan."
His voice hoarse while he spoke as he eyed Megan like a prey, making her shrink back a little.
"What happened to you?" Megan finally found her voice to speak as she examines her father from head to toe.
"I went out drinking."
"But mom sa-" Megan was cut off by her father's sudden yelling.
"To hell with what Amber said. Don't act as if you're that innocent. You killed Joseph, you fucking ungrateful bitch."
Every word that spat out of his mouth was filled with venom as Megan stared at her father, horror filling her eyes.
Megan's father grabbed Megan's wrist as he noticed her scooting further from him. Megan winced in pain as she struggled to free her hand to no avail.
Megan closed her eyes, her heartbeat accelerating as she could feel her father's breath against her neck.
"Don't think I'll forgive you for your sin. I fucking wait ten whole years to have Joseph. 10 MOTHERFUCKING YEARS OF EFFORT GONE. IS THAT WHAT YOU WANTED?"
Her father screamed in her ear as Megan shook her head and opened her eyes. Her vision was blurry but she could see the hatred in her father's eyes.
Her dad gripped her wrist tighter causing Megan to yelp out in pain before he finally let go and stormed out of the room.
Megan held her wrist with her other hand, trying to soothe the pain.
But that was not so painful.
The most painful thing out of all was how her father chose to blame her.
And that hurts her the most.
