Not many people came to the funeral. A few colleagues of Mr Scarlet came and their relatives too came down to the church to mourn the passing of the trio.

So did Duncan.

He was there standing in front of the coffin of his dearest lover, Megan. Her eyes were closed and he wondered when will he ever get a chance to see the light in her eyes again.

He leaned forward to where Megan laid and whispered, "I miss you Megan." He looked up and glanced around to ensure nobody was looking before he placed a picture of himself and a note that read, "It's Duncan. I love you Megan!!"

His eyes trailed to he lips and Duncan wished he could taste those light pink lips once more. He wanted to savour them before they disappeared.

He ran his fingers against her scar and a tear escaped from his eyes, falling onto her face and then sliding to the side of the coffin.

Before Duncan could let his tears flow, somebody tapped his shoulder and he spun around, only to be greeted by a large burly man whom Duncan remembered was Megan's uncle as Megan had showed him pictures of her uncle.

The man told him that the funeral service was about to start and that he should settle down before walking away. Duncan turned back to look at Megan, taking in her physical features before heading towards a seat near the stage.

A few people went up to say their eulogy and eventually come Duncan's turn too.

He was the last person to go up there. Everybody else had spoken their eulogies. Now he stood up on stand, eyes piercing through his soul. He got out the paper he had written his eulogy on.

Then he spoke.

"Megan Scarlet was the only woman I have ever loved. She was different. And no, I'm not talking just about her scar. She was just – how do I put it?" Duncan paused to glance at the people who sat in a row in front of him.

"She looked past her scar. And all I can say is that.  .  . the way she took that scar in a stride is admirable. If it wasn't for her scar, I wouldn't even have talked to her." Duncan gave a small sad smile to the audience as he thought about the first time he met Megan.

Then he read the last part of his eulogy.

"But in all honesty, she truly left a scar on my heart. She would always be my girl. The one who had strings of tragedy written on her heart but yet took in a stride! And needless to say I-I. .  ."  his voice trailed off as tears began to fall one by one onto the paper which he had written his eulogy on.

And then he whispered.

"I love her. And I will always do."
