Megan couldn't help but think of Duncan throughout the remaining half of the day as she laid on her bed, staring at the ceiling and attempted to fathom her thoughts into constellations.
Megan couldn't stop thinking about Duncan. She crossed her fingers and silently prayed that everything would be alright.
Seconds stretched to long minutes and these long minutes stretched to long hours of thinking.
It wasn't until Carly who barged into the room to give Megan her dinner that she finally got to stop herself from worrying a little too much.
"Hello. Dinner's ready!" Carly twittered as she placed the dinner on the table at the end of her bed.
"Megan?" Carly called out when she realised Megan didn't respond but instead stared off into the distance.
"Yeah?" Megan muttered upon snapping out of her thoughts and shifted her gaze to Carly whose lips formed a knowing smile.
"Lover boy got ya thinking ain't it?" Carly playfully smiled which made Megan smile a little before staring at the ceiling.
"What's the problem?" Carly heaved a sigh when she realised Megan's mind was somewhere else.
Megan ran her hand against her face and sighed before shifting her gaze to Carly who had furrowed her eyebrows whilst waiting for an answer.
"I don't know. Duncan..." Megan didn't know what to say next as she stared at Carly who raised her eyebrows.
"The doctors told him something right?" Carly finished off and Megan nodded as she bit her lips.
"Do you want me to ask around about what's happening or something?" Carly offered and Megan's eyes lit up.
"Yes please." Megan whispered and Carly gave curt nod before eyeing the food as she turned to leave.
"Don't forget to eat. You need to be healthy so you can see lover boy soon." Carly spoke as she left the room, leaving Megan alone once more.
Megan smiled knowingly before glancing at the food. She'll eat later because she had another task to do.
Sit and wait to know.
