CHAPTER NINE

(This chapter is going to be switching from others’ POVs a lot, bear with me. I want you guys to see what is going through Ashton, Hadley, and Michael’s mind. Also, I apologize for making Michael the bad guy. I got the chance to meet him and Ashton this summer and they were sooooo sweet. But, every story needs a bad guy ;) Another addition, I’m sorry if this chapter makes no sense, I’m jamming to the Frozen soundtrack and, yeah. Pretty self explanatory. Hahaha, sorry. Thank you for over 400 reads! I remember when I thought 30 was a lot!! Please vote and comment. I really like the feedback I’ve gotten!!! I love you all xx)

HADLEY’S POV

“Ashton, I still love you,” I couldn’t believe I said that. The words just fell out of my mouth before I even had a chance to think. I knew I made a mistake as soon as I said it because he didn’t respond. Although, he did keep his arms tightly around my body.

“I love you,” Were the next three words that came from his mouth. He actually said it back. These were three worlds coming from his mouth that I never thought I’d hear again. At least directed towards me.

I slowly took my gaze from the empty wall to Ashton’s face. His eyes soon met mine before they closed as his lips met mine. The kiss was slow and gentle. His lips moved slowly against mine before his tongue ran along my bottom lip. Everything in that moment felt perfect. Being in Ashton’s arms as we kissed made all my problems disappear.  I felt his lips move and turn into a smile on mine. I couldn’t help but smile back.

“I’ve missed you so much. You have no idea,” he whispered as he leaned back against his pillows. I didn’t know what to say. I was too caught up in the fact that this was actually happen. It took me a while to find my words.

“You actually want me? You want me over the thousands of girls chasing after you?” I asked him and laid down on my side facing him.

“Is that even a question? None of them add up to you. In fact, all of them combined don’t even add up to you. You are the one for me.”

“I just broke up with Michael, Ashton. It hasn’t even been twenty-four hours. Don’t you think we’re moving too fast?”

“No,” Ashton chuckled and shook his head. The dimples that formed on his cheeks from smiling made my stomach do a flip.

“You’re insane,” I teased and rolled onto my back. “And I’m exhausted.”

“Go to sleep then, love. We have a whole two weeks to figure everything else out.” The way he called me ‘love’ caused my cheeks to turn bright red. I knew he noticed when his smile grew wider. “Do you want me to sleep on the couch downstairs?”

I wanted to say ‘No’ so badly, but I knew the correct answer was ‘yes’. The best thing for Ashton and I’s broken relationship was moving slow. We had already moved way too fast in one day, sleeping in the same bed would be on a different level. “Ye—“ I quickly cut myself off. What was I thinking? Fuck moving slow. I knew I wanted Ashton and I knew he wanted me, too. “Can you stay in here with me?”

“Of course, it is my room after all,” He grinned down at me before standing up. “I’m going to brush my teeth and change. Do you need anything?” I simply shook my head as I yawned. I didn’t need anything else. I already had what I wanted.

ASHTON’S POV

I was woken up in the middle of the night to Hadley rolling over and practically sprawling her whole body across mine. I couldn’t help but smile to myself. She was here with me again. I no longer cared about anything else. I knew things we’re going to be the same, but I was going to try fucking hard to prove to her that she was my world.

I glanced down at her. Her blonde hair was a tangled mess in her face. Watching her sleep was so peaceful, it was moments like these that I would favor for the rest of my life. I closed my eyes once again and slowly drifted off into a deep sleep.

MICHAEL’S POV

I laid awake all night. Who the fuck did she think she was? She comes to my house, without me really knowing specific details, and then slept in his room. She always claimed to be over that asshole. He was no good for anything. He didn’t even do anything in the band. He sat on a dumb stool and hit objects with a fucking stick. What a fucking idiot.

Hadley made a mistake and I swore that I was going to make her regret it. Claire. Claire was the one way that would piss her off so much that she’d practically come crawling back to me. I knew Calum and Luke wouldn’t like me bringing her here, but I gave no fucks anymore. I needed my revenge and Claire was the perfect way to get it.

I didn’t exactly love Hadley. I mean, I loved her for the sex, but other than that I actually found her annoying. She always got whatever she wanted. Not this time. She’d come crawling back to me, and I’d throw her out the door.

HADLEY’S POV

I woke up early the next morning still wrapped in Ashton’s arms. The fact that he and the rest of his bandmates slept into the late afternoon absolutely astonished me. I look up at him and grinned. His mouth was slightly open and he was snoring softly. After admiring how perfect his facial structures were even when he looked like a big idiot in his sleep, I glanced at the alarm clock. It read eleven-thirty.

I started to shake Ashton asleep and he groaned. “Wake up, Ashton. You promised me you were going to show me that you deserved a second chance.”

“You make no sense to me right now. It’s too early,” Ashton groaned and hid his face in his pillows as I turned on the light.

“Please just wake up. I don’t want to go downstairs alone.”

“Fine…” Ashton yawned before standing up again and heading to the bathroom. “But first I got to piss.”

I laughed softly and sat down on the bed. As I sat down, I noticed a piece of paper sitting on his desk. It looked like it could be a tattoo. Curiosity got the best of me, and I stood up to get a better look at it. It read “My broken soul can’t be alive and whole, until I see you once more”. My heart instantly sunk into my stomach.

“What are you doing?” His voice practically echoed in my head until I turned around to face him.

“Uh…” I stared at him, dumbfounded.

“You saw the tattoo design?” I nodded and bit my lip.

“I’m sorry for going through your stuff. It just caught my eye and —“

“It’s fine, Hadley. It’s not a big deal,” Ashton chuckled softly as relief swept over my body.

“Tattoo?” I raised an eyebrow and glanced at his arms. How had I not fucking noticed? His arms were now covered in tattoos. I knew he liked that whole ‘punk rock’ look, but I never imagined this. I was a complete and utter idiot for not noticing.

“That uh, it’s actually about you…” Ashton slowly made his way to me. He took the white paper from my hand and placed it back on his desk. Once again, I was dumbfounded.

“Why would you get a tattoo about me?”

“You’re kidding with me right? Didn’t last night kind of hint to you that I can’t really function properly without you?” I had never seen Ashton this vulnerable in my life. He scratched the back of his head and once again, avoided eye contact with me. “Sorry, that sounded dumb.”

“No it didn’t,” I gave him a small reassuring smile. “I never thought you’d have this many tattoos. What does your mum think?”

“She doesn’t care for them too much. She thinks I look even more like my father with them.”

“I’m sorry, Ashton—"

“Nah, it’s okay,” He sighed softly and looked down at me. “Let’s go get breakfast or whatever and maybe we can go out for dinner tonight or something.”
