Kai'lani I. Perez | three months later
It's been three months since the moment Chris and I shared in Nassau. I was back at work and kind of happy about it. Everyone was trying to figure out what relationship I had with Chris but it was nothing. Chris was dealing with a woman was claiming to be carrying his child. At came to a surprise to everyone including Chris.
The woman was three months pregnant at the time when she came out, now she's five months. Chris took the role of being a responsible man and helped her out in anyway he could which was some points in my book. I was happy for them but they weren't together. Nia had just gotten engaged and they agreed on co parenting, which were great. There was a knock on my office door before it opened. It was Karrueche, a good friend of mine who I met a local event.
"Hey boo." She greeted with a smile.
"Hey girl, what brings you by my humble of ode?" I inquired.
"I was down in the area and my manager wanted me to drop by and see if my photographer friend wanted to do a on the street photoshoot."
"You know I'm down. Let me grab my camera and let's do it." I told her. I walked over to my coffee table and grabbed my camera. I slid on my Nike slides and walked out the door. Karrueche stood in front of my house with her manager, Jacob York.
"Hey Jacob." I greeted.
"Hey Kai and thanks for doing this."
"No problem." I told him. I squatted down and began taking pictures. She was naturally born with the talent to model. Never have I ever met a person who was photogenic like her. Not to mention she's really beautiful. I took a couple more shots of her before standing up. She walked over to me.
"How do they look?" She inquired. I reviewed the photos and smiled.
"Beautiful girl." I told her with a smile. She took the camera from my hands and reviewed the photos for herself. She smiled and handed the camera back to me.
"I swear you can do your thing with a camera."
"So I've been told." I told her. I turned around to see Chris's Range Rover pulling into my driveway.
"Well I have to get going, I have a charity dinner to get ready for." She told me. We hugged before she walked to her black Audi. Her and Chris smiled at each other before going their separate ways. Chris walked over to me and gave me a bear hug.
"Hey Maurice." I greeted. He looked down at me with a stale face.
"Haha very funny India."
I smiled and looked up at him, "How's your baby mama?" I inquired as we walked around back to my backyard. I took a seat on the hammock and patted the spot next to me. He sat back and sighed.
"Everything's great but now she acting some type of way ever since she has gotten engaged to that guy. She's been asking for child support and money for the baby which isn't here yet. I think her fiance is behind it." I told him.
"Well it seems like they're trying to get a piece of your money or that's what her fiance is trying to do. You can't let that happen Chris but if it does make sure it goes to the baby." I told him. He laid back and rubbed his face. I laid back and rubbed his arm.
"You're making sense right now. Why can't they get pass the money? He inquired.
"Because some people are just felt with greed. They don't see the genuine person, they see the money and the flashing lights." I told him. People didn't really see that Chris is a genuine person who actually cares. If she was pregnant, I would go and confront her but she is pregnant with his child.
"How's work?" He inquired, changing the subject.
"Great, I haven't wanted to knock Hannah out." I told him. He chuckled. I knew that would make him laugh. I told him how I couldn't stand her.
"That's a start. How's your sister?" He inquired. Melanie, my youngest sister showed up standing on my doorstep, a few weeks ago. She had been homeless for a month and had been trying to find me. The entire reason she was homeless because she had lost her job then her home and car. My mother and her are going through something right now so she didn't want to ask her for help so she came to me. She's staying with me at the moment while she's trying to figure out her next move.
"She's doing better. She got a job at a local cafe and she's just using my Mustang to get around for now. She's really trying to get back on her feet and I'm so proud of her for that." I told him.
"That's because she has her awesome big sister helping her." He smiled.
"Awe, thanks Chris but I can't take all the credit. You're the only who took her on a shopping spree."
"You wouldn't let me buy her a apartment and a car so I felt like that was the best thing I could do."
"You are too generous Chris. That's one of the things I like about you." I told him. He smirked.
"What else do you like about me?" He inquired.
"I like that you're talented in all that you do. I like that you can make me laugh. I like that you put your mind and heart into everything single thing you do. There's a entire list but we don't time for all of it." I told him. He looked at me and smiled.
"That's cute." He cooed as he pinched my cheeks. I punched him in his chest.
"See that's why I can't compliment you. Your damn ego always gets in the way."
"Okay, I'm sorry but do you want to know what I like about you?" He inquired. I got up from the hammock and stood in front of him and grabbed his hands.
"What I like about you, you really know how to dance. When you go up, down, jump around, think about true romance, yeah." I sang as I jumped up and down. Chris laughed and pulled me down on top of him. We were both dying of laughter.
"You're stupid Indy, I swear." He laughed.
"I'm sorry I had to." I smiled.
"Well back to what I was saying. I like that you can make me laugh. I like that you are ambitious and passionate about anything you do. I like how you're the kindest person ever. You're just altogether a great person and I'm really glad that we met."
"Awe Chrissy is get mushy." I cooed as I pinched his cheeks like he did me. He took my hands from his face and flipped us around. He pinned my arms down on the hammock and hovered over me. He began tickling my sides.
"Okay! Okay! I'm sorry I can you mushy!" I laughed loudly. I felt my face getting red and I probably looked like a tomato. Chris finally stop tickling me and was just staring me in my eyes. It's like our eyes didn't want to look away from each other. Before I knew it, Chris was leaning down and I was leaning up. Our lips met and I felt something. My arms wrapped his neck and I pulled him closer to me. Our tongues were fighting for dominance. Chris pulled away and smirked.
"I didn't know you were that good of a kisser."
"Same to you." I told him. He let go of my arms and I sat up. He sat down on the other side of me and smiled. I smiled back. Am I starting to fall for him?
