Kai'lani bounced Brielle on her hip. It was nearly five o'clock in the morning and she couldn't get her back to sleep. She was running on one hour of sleep and didn't know what do. She took a seat on the couch and tried to sing her to sleep. It looked as her singing was helping Brielle go to sleep. She sighed in relief. She gently got up from the couch and walked upstairs. She opened the door to the nursery and placed her in her crib. She turned on the baby monitor before walking out the room.

Once she walked out of the room, she felt like the room was moving. She tried to grip on the doorknob of her bedroom before she slipped onto the ground and watched as the darkness took over.

Aliana J. Brown ↠ four hours later

Kai was supposed to meet Kendrick and I at a local diner, a hour ago. She never showed up. That's very unlikely for her, she was always on time. Kendrick and I were on the way to her house. I knew something was wrong. She wasn't answering the phone or any of my text messages. She was a very light sleeper and anything would wake her up. Kendrick pulled up in the driveway and turned off the car.

We exited the car and walked up the pathway to the front door. I knocked on the door for a good five minutes and didn't get a response.

"All her cars are her." Kendrick told me. Where did she tell me the spare key was? I looked to left and see a small green box. I grabbed the box and threw it on the ground. It shattered into a million pieces but I seen a silver key. I grabbed it and opened the door. I was greeted with long cries when I ended the house.

"Kai?!" I called out. I ran upstairs and gasped at the site. She laid on the floor and she looked very pale.

"Kendrick call 911, she passed out." I told him. He nodded and took out of his phone. I elevated her body and listened to him talk to the 911 operator. The girls! I got up from the floor and walked into the room. I picked both Brielle and Leilani up from their cribs.

"They'll be here real soon. You need help with the girls?" He inquired as he walked into the nursery.

"Yes. Go down to the kitchen, grab two bottles and heat them up in the bottle warmer. I'm going to change Lani. Take Bri with you." I told him. He nodded and took Brielle out of my arms. I laid Lani onto the changing table and changed her dirty diaper. She was still crying so I knew she was hungry. I wonder how long it's been since she passed out. Once I was finished with her diaper, I rushed downstairs.

"The ambulance is here." Kendrick told me as he handed me one of the bottles. I opened the door and directed for them to come inside.

"She's upstairs. I don't know how long she's been passed out." I told them. The paramedics rushed upstairs and began to put her on gurney. I felt Kendrick rub my arm in a comforting way.

"She'll be okay." He assured. I took out of my phone and dialed my aunt's number.

"Hello?" She answered.

"Kai's passed out, we have the girls but we don't want to take them to the hospital. Can you come watch them?"

"Of course, I'll be over in five. I was heading there anyway." She told me.

"Ok I'll see you when you get here." I told her before hanging up. I knew she wasn't getting enough sleep but I didn't think she would pass out. The paramedics came downstairs with the gurney. She looked pretty bad. She wasn't her rich caramel color anymore, she was more like a pale brownish color.

"Are y'all ready with us?"

"No but we'll be down at the hospital as soon as we can." I told them. They kept moving and placed her in the back of the ambulance. As they were leaving, my aunt was pulling in. She rushed in the house and looked at both Kendrick and I.

"Have you guys talked to Chris?"

"No. Part of this is his fault anyway, he knew she wasn't getting proper sleep or food in her body then he leaves her to take care of two babies." I told her. She sighed and took Lani from me.

"I told that boy not to go, she's a strong woman but it was only so much her body could take."

"I know aunty, Rick and I are going to the hospital. We'll keep you updated." I told her. She nodded and took Brielle from Rick. We walked out of the house and back to Rick's truck. We got inside and I laid back.

"You're going to call him right?" He inquired as he started the car.

"Yeah. I want his dumbass to know what he did to her. Anybody could see she isn't healthy." I told him. I took out my phone and dialed Chris's number. It rang a few times before he finally picked up.

"Hello?"

"Hello dumbass. I was calling because I thought you should know that your wife is in the hospital."

"Hospital? What the fuck happened Ali?" He inquired.

"Well she was supposed to be meeting Rick and I for breakfast but she never showed. We went to the house and knocked on the door, she didn't answer. I got the spare key and walked inside. I found her upstairs passed out. The girls were crying but your mom is there now." I told him.

"I'm on my way back to LA right now."

"Nah blood, stay where you at. You obviously didn't see that she was close to shutting down when you left. Anybody could see her body was about to shut down, anybody but you. I'll text you about what was wrong." I told him before hanging up.

"Liana, don't you think you were too tough on him?"

"No Rick, he needed that shit. He thinks he can do anything. He's barely home with her and the girls anyway. It's either the studio, a party, or a tour." I told him. I hated it for Kai. Rick pulled into the hospital parking lot and found a close up park. We got out of the truck and walked into the hospital, hand in hand. We walked over to the receptionist desk and she looked up.

"What can I help you guys with?"

"Is it possible that we can see Kai'lani India Brown at the moment?" I inquired. She typed on her computer before looking up at us.

"Yes you can. She's in room 288B." She told us. We nodded and made our way down the two hundred hallway. I looked on the left while Rick looked on the right.

"This is it." He spoke. I knocked on the door before walking inside. She was hooked up to machines and her eyes were closed. The doctor looked up at us.

"Are you family?"

"Yes, I'm her cousin." I told her. He nodded and walked over to us.

"I'm Doctor Woodridge." He introduced.

"How is she Doctor?" I inquired.

"Well she's suffering for low blood pressure, dehydration, and sleep deprivation." He told us.

"Will she be ok?" Rick inquired.

"She'll be fine, we recommended that she stays here for another two days so she can get the proper care."

"Okay thank you Doctor." I told him. He nodded and walked out of the room. I walked over to her bedside and sighed.
