Kai'lani I. Perez ↠ two months later

Two months have passed and I've have discovered I'm one month pregnant. I was excited because I've always wanted to start a family. I've told everyone including Chris because he is the baby's father. Just because we're not on good terms in the moment doesn't mean I'll hide that we have a child on the way. He has attempted to get back on my good side but it's going to take him for him to be forgiven.

Today was my third doctor's appointment and I was going to be hearing the baby's heartbeat which is always exciting for a soon to be mom. I grabbed my purse from the end table before walking to the garage. I grabbed my Audi keys and hit the unlock button. I got into the driver seat and sat my purse on the passenger seat floor. I started the car and backed down my driveway. I turned up the radio a little.

"I go on and on, can't understand why I last so long." I sang along with Drake's For Free. I made a right and turned into my doctor's building. I parked my car and turned it off. I grabbed my purse before getting out. I walked into the building to see Chris sitting down in a chair on his phone. I waved at him and he nodded his head. I signed in then took a seat. After this, I needed to go to a meeting down at Sorella and run a couple of errands. I'm going move into another house, something a little smaller.

"Kai'lani Perez." The nurse called. I got up from the chair and walked over to the woman. Chris came following behind me. The nurse lead us to the height and weight station. I slid off of my Ugg slippers and stepped onto the height machine. She took my height then I stepped off and stepped onto the weight machine. She took my weight and I stepped back off the machine. I slid back on my slippers and followed her a empty room.

"Doctor Carson will be with you momentarily." She told us before closing the door. I sat on the bed while Chris sat in one of the chairs.

"How have you been?" He inquired. This was our first time seeing each other since I told him I was pregnant.

"I've been doing good, how about you?" I inquired.

"I could be doing better." He admitted.

"What do you mean about that?"

"Karrueche's trying to take out child support and have sole custody." He sighed. Why would she do that? I thought they were on good terms. Doctor Carson walked into the room with clipboard in hand.

"Good morning." He greeted.

"Good morning Kenneth." I greeted. Doctor Carson is a friend of the family. We were basically raised in the same neighborhood but he's eight years older.

"How are you feeling?" He inquired as he grabbed the blood pressure monitor.

"Good but the morning sickness is getting out of hand at times." I told him. He nodded and wrote something down.

"I'm just going to ask you a couple of questions about your menstrual cycle to give you a due date." He told me.

"Is your cycle regular and how long does it last?"

"Yes and it last five days." I told him. He nodded and wrote it down.

"What was the first day of your last cycle?"

"It was the 4th of last month."

"Do you have any habits that can possibly hurt the baby?"

"No I don't have any habits."

"Good. What I'm about to do next is do a ultrasound to see how your fetus is doing inside of the womb and you'll also be able to hear the baby's heartbeat." He told me. I nodded and laid back on the bed. I watched him put on some gloves and grabbed the gel. I lifted my shirt and he placed some gel onto my belly. He smoothed it out and put the scanner onto my belly. He moved it around and stopped in one spot.

"That little bean shaped object is your baby."

I smiled and felt my eyes began to water. I felt Chris hold my hand. I looked down at him. I can't believe I'm really having a baby. He removed the scanner then grabbed for another machine.

"This is a fetal doppler, this is going to help you hear the baby's heartbeat." He explained. He placed the scanner thing on my belly and moved it around. He stopped in a spot and the sound of a heartbeat poured into the room. Tears began flow down my cheeks.

"143 beats per minute, you have a very healthy baby." He said. He turned off the machine and wiped off the ultrasound gel. The lights turned back on and I sat up on the bed. Kenneth walked over to his station and began to write. I pulled my shirt down and glanced at Chris who was looking at me.

"This is your ultrasound picture, card for your next appointment, and a pamphlet for do's and don'ts for your pregnancy." He told me as he handed it to me. I nodded and got down from the bed. Kenneth walked out of the room leaving Chris and I to ourselves. I walked over to the door but Chris gently grabbed my arm and turned me toward him.

"Chris what is it? I have a important meeting to go to."

"I know that a apologize isn't going to fix anything at this moment but I'm sorry. I knew it was dumb to go to the strip club but I did it anyway. All my other relationships fail but I don't want that to happen to this relationship. Please forgive me, you don't to forget about it but all I want is your forgiveness." He sighed. I looked up at him and pecked his lips.

"I forgive you for the sake of us and our child Chris. I don't trust you as much as I used to but I'm willing to move forward."
