There was only three days left before Kai'lani birthday and I was struggling to get her surprise birthday party organized. It was going to be a private affair with just close friends of her and also family. She had no idea want us going down and I wanted to keep it that way. I had called my mom to get help on how to get everything together. She told me to just go with the flow and don't overdo it.

"Hey babe, I'm home!" Kai announced as she walked through the front door of my apartment. She walked into the living room and gave me a peck on the cheek.

"Hey baby. How was work?" I inquired pulling her in between my legs. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I gave her my undivided attention.

"It was wonderful. The grand opening is in a week. Can you believe it?"

"Yeah I can because my amazing, talented girlfriend and her friend have worked very hard on this. I'm so proud of you baby girl." I smiled. She smiled at me and pecked my lips.

"Thank you baby and I'm sorry about last night. I was stressed about work. I was going to apologize this morning but you were gone." She sighed. Last night, Kai went off on me and that lead to us getting into an argument. She had shattered my phone screen and cut me with her long nails. I didn't anything but go to my brother's house.

"I'm not going to say it was okay but you didn't hurt me too bad. You need to relax baby or else you're going to be a danger to yourself and others." I told her with a sigh. She nodded and laid her head on my shoulder. I rubbed my hand up and down her back. I knew she was beating herself up about it but I wasn't bothered by it.

"You're so good to me babe." She mumbled.

"Why wouldn't I be good to you baby? You deserve the best of the best and I'll die trying if I have to give it to you." I told her. She looked up at me.

"Really?" She inquired in shock.

"Yes, the guys before me must have not tried you like the queen you are. Baby, you're worth everything to me. You're my light at the end of the tunnel. I'm glad you called me that day to see if I wanted to go to the Halloween party with you because it sparked us, this beautiful and blossoming relationship." I told her. There were tears in her eyes. I knew she has never had anyone talk to her like that and I wanted to change that.

"I really do love you August Anthony Alsina." She smiled.

"I know baby, now give big daddy August some suga'." I joked and puckered up my lips.

"I can never have a romantic moment with you Aug, you are always playing." She laughed before pecked my lips repeatedly. There was a knock on the door. She walked away from me and went to open the door. Her best friends along with Cha and my brother, Benjamin walked in. They were always cock blocking and they never knew they were doing it either.

"Where's my babies?" I inquired as I walked into the living room to join everyone.

"At daycare Aug, I'll let you know when you can keep them." Cha told me as she took a seat.

"What brings everyone by?" Kai inquired as she hugged onto my side.

"Well you two are the hardest people to get in contact with." Melissa spoke.

"I know and I'm sorry. I've just be busy with the store and do photo shoots on the side. It's getting a little much." Kai sighed.

"August should know." Benjamin smirked.

"Shut up Ben, she was angry." I told him. Kai looked up at me and smiled. She was still apologetic but I also knew she was getting a little kick out of it.
