Christopher M. Brown
I was doing at least eighty miles per hour as I drove to the hospital. Aliana's words kept circling around my mind. How could I be so stupid? I should've known that she needed help. I pulled into the parking lot of the hospital and parked in the first available one I seen. I got out of my car and jogged into the hospital. I jogged over to the receptionist desk and she looked up.
"Oh my god! You're Chris Brown." She exclaimed. I gave her a small smile and nodded.
"Yes I am. I'm here to check on my wife, Kai'lani Brown." I told her. She typed on her computer before looking back up at me.
"She's in room 288B." She told me. I ran down the two hundred hallway and looked for the room number. Once I spotted it, I walked into the room and sighed. I seen she was hooked up to all types of machines. I walked over to her bedside and kneeled down beside her. I took her hand into mine and kissed it. I looked up and seen she had her eyes closed.
"God I'm so stupid. I should have seen something was wrong. Hell I shouldn't have went anywhere, I should have been there helping with the girls." I spoke to myself. I laid my forehead on the railing and silently prayed she was ok. I heard the door opened and I looked up to see a doctor.
"I presume, you are her husband?"
"Yes I am. I was always on business. What happened?"
"For starters, she had low blood pressure from fainting and not eating like she's suppose to be. She has sleep deprivation and suffered from dehydration. If she didn't get here sooner, she could have possibly been in a coma or worse." He told me.
"So she's just sleep?" I inquired.
"Yes Mr. Brown. Whatever that has caused these health problems, she should take a break from. I suggest her getting away for a week. Her stress levels were abnormally high also."
"I agree doc, I'll get her somewhere to go for a week." I told him. He nodded and walked out of the room. Sleep deprivation? Dehydration? Stress? I knew I was the primary cause of it. I should start being more of a husband and father.
"Chris," She croaked. I looked to see she was looking over at me.
"Yes baby?" I inquired.
"What I am doing here? Where's the girls? Why are you here?"
"Babe, you passed out from sleep deprivation, dehydration, and low blood pressure. The girls are with my mother and I flew back as soon as I heard what happen. Why didn't you tell me?"
She looked at me, "I've been tell you for a while now Chris. I've been hinting on it and hinting on it. I just don't understand how you didn't pick up on it. Maybe if you weren't at the studio, partying, or going on all these damn tours maybe you would have noticed but you didn't. I'm your wife and continuously your career is get put before me." She expressed.
"Baby I'm out there making money for us, our family."
"I don't give a damn about money Chris. I want my husband to be home to help me out but I don't think you can do that. Maybe Melissa was right, all you do is think about yourself. I do nothing but take care of the house and the girls. Who's there for me? Everybody but you, my own husband. Why did you marry me, just to ignore me?"
I stayed quiet because I knew she was right. I'm always out partying and not taking on responsibility. I have a wife and three kids. I need to get my act together. She's my wife, my best friend and I'm treating her like she's the scum of the Earth.
"You're right. I haven't been there, I've been irresponsible and I see that now. I'm just mad that it took this long for me to see it. You're my wife, my best friend. I should be helping you out instead of stressing you out. I vow that starting today I'm going to be a better husband and father." I told her. She looked at me and sighed.
"I'll believe it when I see it Chris. I'm tired of the same old thing and I'm going to need you to show me something new or I'm out Chris."
"You will see something new, I promise babe."
