Kai'lani I. Perez

Today was my wedding day and I wasn't feeling it at all. Chris and I haven't spoke a word to each other. August has tried to get us to talk but I wasn't having it. I sat down in a chair in the bathroom and let Melissa work her magic. I knew she was feeling some way about the argument but she didn't say anything. She sighed and put down the makeup brush.

"Kai, are you sure you going to be happy with him? Look at y'all now, you're in the middle of a fight on your wedding day."

"Lissa I'll be fine. Couples have their ups and downs. We have more ups than downs so I'm not worried. I understand you're my best friend and want the best for me but he is the best." I told her. She nodded and went back to doing my makeup. There was a knock on the door before it opened and revealed August.

"Hey ya'. How ya' feelin'?" He inquired as he took a sit on the counter.

"Slightly annoyed but I'm doing better. How is he?"

"He's nervous. He's in there sweating bullets and hyperventilating." He told me. I sighed and rubbed my hands together.

"Lissa can you give us a minute?" I inquired. She nodded and walked out of the bathroom.

"August I need for you Facetime him." I told him. He nodded and took out his phone. I waited patiently for him to answer because I wanted to tell him something.

"August what the hell are you Facetimin' me for?" Chris inquired.

"Baby, I think you should know I'm not mad at you anymore. I'll explain my reasoning later but I need you to calm down and be ready to walk down that aisle in a couple of hours." I told him.

"Okay babe I'll try, I love you."

"I love you too baby." I told him. August ended the call and put his phone back in his pocket. He got up and kissed my cheek.

"I'll see ya' later little bit." He told me before walking out of the bathroom.

three hours later

It was fifteen minutes to the wedding and we were at the venue. I was in a little room with my bridesmaids and Chris's groomsmen waiting for the wedding to start. I was nervous to be honest. The fact that I was going to have to walk down the aisle by myself was also adding to my nervous.

"Are you ready? If so, we can start the wedding." The pastor inquired.

"We're ready." I told him. He nodded and all of the bridesmaid and groomsmen got into the order. August came into the room with a smile on his face.

"What are you doing?" I inquired.

"Chris and I decided that I should walk you down the aisle. I know you're bummed about your dad not being here so I wanted to walk with you." He told me. I got up and hugged him tightly.

"Thank you so much August." I thanked him. He was truly something special. August's niece Kay began to walk out throwing her flowers.

"Ya' ready?" He inquired. I nodded and took a deep breath. The doors opened and before I knew it August and I were nearly halfway down the aisle. Seeing all my family and his family felt refreshing. We stopped at the end of the aisle and August faced the preacher.

"Who gives this woman to this man?" The pastor inquired.

"I do." August told him. He turned and gave me a kiss on the cheek before going to stand beside Ty. Chris and I looked at each other and smiled.

"We're gathered here today to unite Christopher Maurice Brown and Kai'lani India Perez. The couple have written special messages to each other expressing their love. Christopher would you like to go first?"

Chris nodded, "I met the love of my life at her job at a photoshoot. She was very hard to get through to. I asked her out for lunch and she told me no. The next time I had seen her was in the Bahamas, that's where we hit it off. Instead of hosting a club event, I went with her to In and Out, got some burgers, and we talked on the beach about any and everything. She has been the best thing that has happened to me and I know I've messed up in the past but I vow never to do it again. She's been there with me through everything and I love her more and more for that. I love you Kai'lani India Perez."

I could help but noticed the tears rolling down his cheeks. I felt my eyes water up and a smile formed on my face. I cleared my throat and began to speak.

"As Chris has already said we met at my former job. I have to admit he was very persistent but it paid off. We've had our ups and downs but at the end of the day, he has my heart. I'm very grateful for him. He's given me what I've wanted for a long time; a child. He's such a great father to his other two girls and I really love that about him. I love you Chris even though you can get on my absolute last nerve at him."

"Those are some very meaningful vows," The preacher smiled.

"Do you Christopher take Kai'lani to be your wife? To live together after God's ordinance in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love her, comfort her, honor and keep her in sickness and in health? For richer, for poorer? For better, for worse in sadness and in joy? To cherish and continually bestow upon her your heart's deepest devotion, forsaking all others?"

"I do." Chris smiled.

To cherish and continually bestow upon him your heart's deepest devotion, forsaking all others?"

"I do."

"May I have the rings?" The preacher inquired. Chris's grandson and Tyga's son, King ran up to the preacher with the two rings on a light pink pillow. The preacher took the rings off the pillow and King ran back over to Kylie.

"Christopher, slide this ring onto Kai'lani's finger and repeat after me; With this ring, I thee wed." He instructed. Chris took the ring from the preacher and slid the ring onto my finger.

"With this ring I thee wed."

"Kai'lani, slide this ring onto Christopher's finger and repeat after me; With this ring, I thee wed."

I took the ring from him and slid the ring onto Chris's finger, "With this ring I thee wed."

"By the power invested in me, I pronounce you Mr. and Mrs Brown. You may kiss your bride."

Chris removed the veil from my face and kissed me passionately. I placed my hands on his cheeks and he wrapped his arms around my waist. Slowly we both pulled away and smiled at each other. He took my hand into his and we walked down the aisle. As we walked down the aisle, everyone released balloons in the sky; something that I've always wanted at my wedding.

"This is a new chapter for us Mrs. Brown." Chris spoke as we walked over to our limo.

"I know and I'm very grateful for it, Mr. Brown."
