Kai'lani I. Perez

Chris was out of town for a week because of a event in New Orleans leaving me to find us a house. We decided to make the next move in our relationship and move in together. The reason for a new house was because this is a two bedroom home and he's about to have another kid. We needed to have a large home with more space because we were discussing starting our own family.

"Hey bih." CJ greeted as he walked into the house.

"Hey babe, I missed you." I told him. CJ and his boyfriend have been out exploring the world for the past couple of months.

"You ready for Melissa's shower? It starts in two."

"Yes I am ready, this is what I'm wearing." I told him. He nodded and I grabbed my phone. I followed him out of the door and down to his Audi A4. I got into the passenger seat and sat back. I unlocked my phone and replied to a couple of text. CJ pulled out of the driveway and onto the road. It's crazy that I haven't gotten a text from Chris yet. August has been telling that's been on his phone so I don't know what's going on. Speaking of August, he just texted me.

you better get old dude. he out here getting lap dances and shit.

My blood began to boil. Business trip, my ass. CJ pulled up to the building and parked. He got out of the car and looked back at me.

"I'll be in there in a minute, I need to do something first." I told him. He nodded and walked away. I went my messages and tapped on August's contact name.

Send me a picture.

I got out of the car and walked toward the entrance of the building. I got something for that ass when he gets back. I felt my phone vibrate and I knew it was August. I ignored it and walked into the building. The set up was beyond beautiful. Jeremiah, her fiance walked over in my direction and gave me a hug.

"Lissa has been looking for you." He told me. I nodded and walked in the direction of Melissa. She smiled at me. I kneeled down and hugged her.

"You're looking beautiful." I complimented.

"Thanks boo." She smiled. I rubbed her belly and felt her girl. Her and Jeremiah were expecting a little girl and I was happy that I got someone to spoil. CJ walked our way with his boyfriend Tyler following him.

"Hey Kai, hey Melissa." Tyler greeted. I waved and gave him a smile. I walked over to the snack table. I picked up a cupcake and bit into it.

"Kai'lani Perez?" Someone called out. I turned around and seen Marcus, a old highschool friend. I smiled and gave him a hug.

"Hey Mark, how are you?" I inquired.

"I'm doing great, I just moved here to Los Angeles with my daughter Harley." He told me.

"Really? How old is your daughter?" I inquired.

"She's two."

I nodded. "That's good. Are you a single father? I didn't hear you mention her mother."

"Her mother ran off with another guy when Harley was seven months. I've practically been raising her by myself." He told.

"You don't hear of many single dad nowadays but it's truly amazing what you're doing." I told him. He smiled and nodded.

"You're right. Can I get your number so we can be in contact? I really don't know Los Angeles like that and I'm still looking for a job."

"Of course you can get my number and are you still into cars?" I inquired.

"Yes I am."

"Well I think I might have a job opportunity for you." I told him. I grabbed one of the pens from the table and wrote my number down on his hand.

"It was nice seeing you Kai'lani and I'll be in touch." He said before walking off. I can't lie, Marcus has gotten more attractive. When I last seen him, he was skinnier and didn't have a beard. I took a seat in one of the chairs and sat back. Best believe when he gets back from that 'business' trip, he's going to have a pleasant surprise waiting for him.
