Kai'lani I. Brown ↠ two weeks later

I've been home for two weeks now and taking care of children all under the age of three is not a very easy task. Chris and I are up every two hours because Christian's crying results in either Brielle or Leilani waking up. Royalty's a heavy sleeper so she just rolls over and continues to sleep. I don't mind taking care of the kids but I'm going to need sleep soon. Closing the door quietly, I walked across the hall to Chris and I's bedroom to see him laying down.

"Babe? Are you up?" I inquired.

"Yes babe." He responded. I got in the bed and Chris wrapped his arms around me. He pulled my body closer to his and kissed my forehead. I smiled and rested my head on his chest. He rubbed his hand up and down my back.

"I'm so tired, I love being a mommy and all but I need sleep." I pouted.

"Go to sleep babe, my mom is coming by in a hour to help out a little then your mom said she'll be here at nine to help out. If they wake up, I'll put them back to sleep."

"Are you sure?" I inquired.

"Yes baby, I'm sure. Go ahead and sleep." He assured. I nodded and closed my eyes.

Christopher M. Brown

I laid in bed watching Kai'lani sleep. She looked very peaceful and at ease. I need to do something for her. She's been busy with the kids and other drama that I know she hasn't had another nice and relaxing done by me in a while so I think I'll come up with a little surprise. I felt her body stir under my arms and I glanced down. She was still asleep. Her legs wrapped around my left leg with her head laying on my chest. I chuckled to myself. I missed her being all on me. There was a knock on the bedroom door before it opened.

"Good morning baby." My mom whispered as she entered the room.

"Good morning mama. Everyone is asleep now and Kai's mom should be here in any moment." I told her.

"She rode with me and she's downstairs cooking breakfast. I just want to check on you and Kai. How long has she been asleep?"

"For about four hours now, the longest she has slept in about a week." I told her.

"Well you can wake her up when the food is done, that's only if you want to." She told me before exiting the room. I ran my fingers through Kai's hair and sighed. What should I do for her? To show my appreciation for everything she has done for us? I gently rolled her on her side then got out of bed. I walked out of the bedroom and downstairs to hear both of our moms talking up a storm. I walked in the kitchen and gave Ms. Chaslyn a side hug.

"Hey son, is my baby still sleep?" She inquired as she flipped over a pancake.

"Yes ma'am. Ma, Ms. Chaslyn, I need your help with something." I told them before taking a seat at the nook.

"What's wrong baby?" My mom inquired.

"I want to do something special for Kai. After all this drama and having Christian, she hasn't had something nice done for her in a while and I feel like I need to do something but I don't know what."

"If I know my daughter, she loves amusement parks. Ever since I can remember, she had to be at the fair whenever it came around or she had to be at the amusement park the first day it opened." She told me.

"And she has been tossing around how bad she has wanted to start modeling again." My mom added.

"Oh and she loves the simple and romantic things. You should do a scavenger hunt, have her go to her favorite places and it leads to where you are." Her mom suggested.

"That's a great idea Chas." My mom agreed.

"Okay it looks like I've got some planning to do. Can you guys help?" I inquired.

"How?" My mom inquired.

"Tomorrow, I just need y'all to watch the kids because I know that is her main concern. Just make sure she's gets up at nine, I want her to be well rested. I have everything else."

"We can do that, let's not forget we raised you two and y'all became a loving couple who gave us grandbabies." My mom reminded. I chuckled and kissed her cheek.

"Thank you mom, now let me get to work on this scavenger hunt."
