Chapter Nineteen

He left me speechless,I search through his eyes looking for sincerity.
The only thing Daniel was good at is telling the truth or been straight forward,he hates stabbing a person at his back,he rather do it while you watch.

I didn't know what to say.
Then I remembered.

"Why would I want to be your girlfriend when you're Claire's toy"

He licked his lips.

"Been her toy, is just for our up keeping."
He defended.

I drew away from him.
"Am not sure if I love you...its not even about me,am not sure if you love me"

He licked his lips.

"You are not that daughter of a billionaire anymore so if I don't love you I wouldn't ask you out"

"Did Claire asked you to do these"

"No"

"How can I be sure?,you can do anything for the money"

He smiled.
"I love you Diamond,I don't know when these feeling started but I truly do love you"

I know he meant it.

"I would think about it"
I climbed unto the bed,covered myself with the blanket and closed my eyes.

"How long do you need?"

"As long as my mind can calculate"

I didn't open my eyes but I felt his weight as he climbed the bed to sleep,just as we always do,we backed each other and slept.

I woke up not seeing him,he must have left earlier.
He dropped a letter and some money,telling me to get food at any restaurant.

I went to the restaurant where I had gone yesterday.
I met with Hannah again,but before getting there I bought a thick cloth for her little baby,I told her I would come back again if I had more money.
I bought food for them and let them eat decently.

I was glad a made six people happy for once in my life time.
Hannah told me am an angel but and still dwelling in that word.
Am I truly an angel or a devil with a broken wings,?

Daniel came in late.
He asked about my health and gave me few drugs he got from the pharmacy.
He took it without complain.
I can't be selective,after all I took drugs from Hannah which I don't even know if its an expired medicine.
Daniel asked about my stay in my home town.
I was delighted to talk about each of them. He listened patiently.
We talked all through the night,something we have never done,he laughed at things even I didn't know if its funny or not.
We didn't know the time until his alarm clock screamed four thirty a.m.
Then I went to bed,I didn't even know he was awake staring at me all through until I woke up and saw his head on his hand while he lay on the bed.

"You didn't sleep?"

"You were coughing all through the night"

"I haven't recovered yet"
He jumped up and headed into the bathroom.

"I want to say yes"
I said to him as I followed him to the bathroom.

"Is there a reason you would say no?"

"I hate the thought of sharing you with Claire"

"I would let her know about you"

"Is not about you telling her about me,its about sharing you with her"

He paused for a while and came closer to me.

"Just say yes and give me time...it wouldn't be for long,I swear to you"

"What amount of time do you need?"

"Three month?"

I frowned.
"Then after three month I would give you the answer you want"

"What if I can't wait for that three month?"

"What if I can't share you for that three month"

He turned away,then turned back.
"One us would have to give in...please don't let it be me"

I smiled.
"You know I hate to lose"

"You lost at games with you brothers"
He reminded me.

I laughed loudly.
"So am losing right now"

He smiled and hugged me tightly.
"So you are my girlfriend now"

I nodded.
He kissed my forehead.

"Thank you for losing to me"
We laughed together
