Lashton one Shots

New Year's Eve

Prompt: it's New Year's Eve and Luke and Ashton are together in New York and Luke does something at midnight.

Luke's POV
Ashton and I made our way into Times Square on New Year's Eve so we could watch the ball drop at midnight.

"I'm so excited Lukey. This is our first New Years in New York." Ashton said excitedly to me. "Me too." I mumbled. I was so nervous for midnight because I have planned something that could either be the greatest thing I've been done or ruin our friendship.

"What's wrong?" Ashton asked me grabbing my arm stopping us from walking. "Um, nothing?" I said but it came out more like a question.

"Luke, I know when you're lying. And I can tell that you're lying now. What's wrong?" He says seeing right through my lie.

"Nothing. I guess I'm just nervous for the new year, and what it could bring I guess." I replied not completely lying, because I was nervous.

"Don't worry. I'm sure what ever happens, we can get through it together. We always have, and we always will." He says grabbing my hand in his, lacing our fingers together. And before you say anything, no, we're not dating. But I wish we were. Yes, I like Ashton. Hell Im in love with him. But I don't know if he feels the same way.

I smiled at his words and nodded, then we started walking, his hand not leaving mine. We walked into Times Square along with many other people. And what wasn't so good is that we didn't have a good view of the ball.

"I wish that we could see." Ashton says next to me. I could tell that he really wanted to see the ball, so I had an idea. A few months ago, my family went on a trip to New York and we visited Times Square and I found this really cool place where no one comes and you can see where the ball is placed.

"Hey ash, follow me." I say pulling him out of the crowd and to the path I remember so well. "Where are we going?" Ashton asked me. I didn't answer just kept pulling him behind me.

Finally we reached the spot and I turned to Ashton seeing him look around in confusion.

"Luke, where are we?"

I pulled him to where I was standing and whispered in his ear, "Look."

He followed my gaze and saw the sparkling ball clearly.

"Wow," he breathed out, "Its so beautiful."

"I know right," I chuckled, "I found this place when my family went on a trip here, and I thought that this had a great view. So maybe, I thought to myself that'd you'd like it."

"Yea, I like it." He said.

"Only 15 minutes left." I said.

"Yea. I'm ready." He said smiling widely, and I decided that it was now or never. L

"Hey Ashton."

"Yea." Ashton said turning to face me.

"There's something I have to tell you. Lately I've been thinking a lot and," I paused and looked at the time that read  14:00 left, "and I've been realizing my feelings."

"L-Luke? W-what are you talking about?" He asked looking me in the eyes. I ignore his question and kept going.

"Ashton. You are the bestest friend i could ever ask for. But to me, you've always been more than a friend. You're my second half. I love you Ashton. I love the way that your eyes sparkle in the sun, I love the way your curls are so perfectly messy and suit you, I love that your dimples are so deep when you smile, I love how your giggle can make my day instantly better no matter what going on." I stopped again and saw that there were only 10 seconds left until midnight.

"And there's something I've been waiting to do for awhile.."

As soon as the fireworks went off, I pressed my lips to his in a slow moving kiss. I didn't expect him to kiss back, so when he did, i was shocked. When I started to pull away he pulled me back.

He was the one to pull away first this time.

"I love you too Lukey..." he said.

I smiled and kissed him again. After pulling away, I pulled into my side and we stood there watching the fireworks. And I guess I can say, that I was nervous for nothing.
