"Who are you kissing at midnight?" Emma yelled at Regina over the blasting music.

"What?" Regina yelled back, frowning at the blonde. The music was pounding in her ears, lights strobing around them and bodies bumping into them as they danced around in the club.

"Come over here." Emma sighed, grabbing Regina's arm as she dragged her towards the bar. It was still busy but there were considerable less people over there and it was a little quieter.

Regina took a seat on a stool beside Emma at the bar, and Emma ordered two shots of tequila. Their second drinks of the night, as the first were Appletini's when they had just gotten there.

"Who are you kissing?" Emma asked once again.

Regina rolled her eyes, "No one. I'm not doing that."

"Come on, Regina. Live a little, everyone does it and it means nothing. Why not?" The blonde questioned, before thanking the bar tender then downing her shot.

"I just don't like the idea of kissing a complete stranger." Regina confessed, then downed her tequila shot as well.

Emma shrugged her shoulders, "That's the rush of it."

Regina shook her head, "I'm not doing it."

Emma turned back to look at the clock counting down. "Come on, we have a minute and a half to find you a guy." She said, standing from her seat and tugging on Regina's arm.

"Emma, I already told you I'm not doing it so just leave it alone. You can go ahead and find someone. I'm staying here." Regina responded, turning on the stool to face the bar.

"Will you at least help me find a guy?" Emma asked but Regina shook her head, knowing what Emma was up to.

"You're just trying to get me out there and then you'll push me into some guy at the last second." The brunette replied, earning a groan from Emma.

"You're no fun." Emma stated, turning on her heel and walking back out towards the dance floor.

Regina sighed, looking down at her empty glass. She had no intention of coming here, but Emma had once again told her she was 'no fun' and had to come out with her. It was New Years Eve and truthfully, Regina would rather be at home. The music was giving her a head ache and the tequila was dulling the pain, yes, but she wasn't about to get drunk with only Emma to take care of her.

"Not enjoying yourself?" She heard a man ask, she looked up and met eyes with the bar tender. They were so incredibly blue even in the dim lighting at the bar.

"No." She found herself saying, "this isn't really my scene."

He nodded, pouring a drink. "Yeah, I'd rather not be here, but one of my employees called in so I had to other choice." He explained, in a fairly strong British accent.

"You own the place?" Regina asked, surprised. He looked a little young to be owning a bar.

"That I do." He confirmed, and she nodded.

"It's nice." Regina complimented.

He chuckled and shook his head, "it's nice when it's not jam packed with people. During the week it's less busy, that's when I'm usually working."
