It wasn't often that Regina Mills dyed her hair. She would usually go to the salon just down the street for all her hair care needs. This week had been busy and she had been late on booking her appointment. When she finally did, the receptionist had told her they wouldn't be able to fit her in until next week. She had thrown a bit of a fit over the phone, arguing that she was the mayor of this town and she could come in whenever she pleased. That had resulted badly and Regina was now not welcome at the salon. She slammed her phone down on the coffee table before flopping back, lazily onto the couch, breathing a long sigh.
"Something wrong?" Robin asked, entering the living room. Regina ran a hand through her hair as she sat up on the couch, nodding. He frowned then took a seat beside her, his hand began rubbing up and down her arm in an attempt to calm her. "What's up?"
Regina sighed, "It's the hair salon." He tried not to laugh, pressing his lips together, but a short chuckle suddenly escaped and she glared at him. "I know it sounds stupid, but my roots are super dark and I just wanted to lighten them up a little. I called too late and now it can't happen till next week." She explains, now holding his hand in hers.
"Regina, your hair is fine. Don't over think things." Robin said, placing a kiss to her forehead before standing up. "I'm going to start dinner, you can relax for a while if you'd like. I'll call you and the boys down when it's ready."
Regina nodded, then Robin leaned over and pecked her lips. "You're beautiful." He whispered, making her smile.
"Thank you."

"Zelena." Regina whispered into the phone.
"Regina?" Her sister replied, confused. "Why are you calling me? You never call me."
"I need some help." She said, tapping her fingers against the bathroom sink.
"Ok, what's the problem?" Zelena asked.
"Well, I... uh bought some hair dye because they couldn't fit me into the salon and I've never used it before so-"
"And you think I have?!" Zelena cut in.
There's a moment of silence.
"Ok, honestly Zelena you aren't kidding anyone. Your hair can't be that red." Regina finally replied, hearing an immediate scoff in response.
"I'm serious! I don't dye my hair, Regina! It's just naturally this colour!" Zelena sighed, "Glad to know what you really think of it. Maybe now I will dye it."
"Oh." Regina said, flatly. "Well I guess I'll just have to figure this out myself."
"Good luck with that." Her sister laughed, "Don't turn your hair blue or something." She continued, "Or maybe do that, it might be a nice change."
Regina rolled her eyes before picking up the box of dye. "Thanks, sis. I'll call you... well I'll probably see you before I call you next."
"Alright, buh bye!" Zelena said, then the line went dead.
Regina groaned as she put her phone on the edge of the sink and began to examine the box. She read over the instructions, briefly then began opening it up. She threw a towel around her shoulders the brushed out her hair, making sure there were no knots or tangles. She hated messy hair, it was a little pet peeve she had. She began opening the package and looking at the kit before her. She wasn't used to dying her hair, she had never done it herself and the instructions provided little information on how to do it. She sighed to herself, "What am I doing?"

The timer went off which meant her hair was successfully dyed. Besides being a little confused at the beginning, Regina was proud of herself. She had fixed her problem herself, without anyone's help. She liked being independent, she always had. Regina looked in the mirror, pulling the towel on her head and her jaw dropped. Her eyes are playing tricks on her, they had to be. Her hand reached up and touched a strand of her wet hair and her face scrunched up in disappointment. Her hair was awful. It wasn't even the same colour. How on earth could she be so stupid? Did she not read the instructions right? Who is she kidding, she barely read the instructions and now she had to pay the price. Everyone would see her hair like this and she would be the laughing stock of the town. She didn't even look like herself. How could she? Regina Mills had never had any other hair colour then her ebony locks. Regina Mills had never been a blonde.
