Rain pounded on the windshield of Robin's car. It was late on a Thursday night as he made is way home from work. Robin could barely see through the blurry glass as his wind wipers went back and forth a mile a minute. He saw a blurred image of someone walking down the street. She had her purse over her head as she ran down the street. He recognized her immediately and pulled over. He rolls down the window.
"Regina!" Robin yells through the loud storm. She spins around and looks towards his vehicle.
"Robin?" She asks as she walks over to his truck. "Get in." He says and she shakes her head no. She wasn't about to get in her ex boyfriends car even with the weather conditions.
"Regina it's pouring rain and you are drenched, get in the car." Robin says again. She sighs and grabs the handle, swinging the door open as she gets inside his car.
"You're shaking." He mutters and turns up the heat for her. She wraps her arms around herself trying to keep warm.
"You should take this off, it's just going to make you colder." Robin helps her remove her heavy coat and begins taking off his own.
"You can wear mine." He offers, holding it out to her. She slips it on feeling the warmth it brings her. She smiles to herself as she breathes in the scent from his jacket, smelling like fresh pine needles. As much as she hates to admit she missed it, she missed him.
"Thank you." She says quietly, giving him a small smile. After a brief moment of silence Robin takes her hands in his and she looks at him. He moves closer to her and wraps an arm around her, hugging her cold body to him. Regina sighs and rests her head on his shoulder, relaxing as he ran his hand up and down her arm. She began to warm up under his soft touch, the connection they had seemed to of come back in this peaceful moment together. Robin thought it felt nice to have Regina in his arms. He felt like he could stay here forever, he wanted to. He drove her home and parked in front of her house.
"Regina." Robin says quietly. She lifts her head from his shoulder and looks at him, silently telling him he has her full attention. Robin didn't really know what to say, so he just kissed her. She kissed him back, placing her hand on his cheek. Robin pulled away, resting his forehead on hers. He pecks her lips softly and he catches her smile.
"I miss you." Robin whispers and she sighs and pulls away.
"I miss you too but, you really hurt me Robin." Regina replies.
"Just seeing you again, it hurts." She continues. He felt awful, he did hurt her. He left her for someone else. He broke her heart but Robin knew now he had to get her back.
"I'm sorry. I never should've left you." Robin says caressing her cheek gently. Regina takes off his jacket, handing it to him roughly.
"Well you did." She replies, taking her own jacket then opening the car door. She begins running through the rain towards the front door of her house.
"Regina, wait!" Robin says and she doesn't stop running. He gets out of his truck and goes after her.
"Regina." He breathes, grabbing her wrist and turning her towards him when he finally catches up to her. They were on her door step. The rain still constant and heavy as they stood there looking at each other.
"I love you." Robin says looking deep into her chocolate brown eyes.
"I never stopped loving you." He whispers then brushes his nose against hers. Regina looks from his eyes to his lips then back up to his eyes as she begins to lean in. She closes her eyes and kisses him softly while running a hand through his wet hair. Robin kisses her back more passionately as he pulls her body against him. Her lips leave his as she begins trailing kisses along his jaw.
