Tess liked blue socks a whole lot. She really wore them everyday. Even to bed. Blue was her favorite color. Her grandmother knows that she likes blue socks, and she plans to get them for her on her birthday coming up which is January 29th.

This guy at school teased Tess for wearing blue socks. She wasn't at all bothered by it. The guy's name was Paul. "You look stupid wearing blue socks!" he sneered.

"I wear blue socks, and I'm proud of it!" said Tess, smiling. "Only thing stupid is your teasing me for nothing. Makes you look stupid!"

Paul stood there dumbfounded. He was trying to think on how to respond. But quickly walked away in embarrassment.

"That was amazing how you stood up to Paul!" exclaimed Rudy. "He can be such a jerk!"

"Yep indeed," said Tess. "I love my blue socks! And if Paul has a problem with that, he can go kiss a cow!"

"Ha ha yup!" chuckled Rudy. "Say, want to go to McDonald's after school?"

"Sure!" said Tess. "I'll probably get a Quarter Pounder with no onions, and a strawberry shake. And fries too."

"I'll probably get some bacon double cheeseburgers with no onions, and a chocolate shake," said Rudy.

Tess giggled. She was such a lover of blue socks.
