"You ready for this?"

I nodded my head excitedly.

He peaked open the envelope and looked directly at me with a straight face, "Lena Hamilton. You are a descendent of Alexander Hamilton." The crowd gasped and waited for my response.

I gave him the widest eyes, "Oh my God."

Jimmy gave me an encouraging smile, not really knowing what to say. I nodded my head, "Well that's pretty cool." I said trying to break the tension in the air.

"It's pretty insane! It says here you are his great granddaughter six times."

"Wow." I took the card from his hand and read the synopsis, "I had no clue." I gave him a small half smile.

"What're you feeling right now?" Jimmy asked.

"Honestly? There are thousands of things that are swirling around in my head right now. But the one that sticks out to me the most? I almost feel ashamed." I said right back to him.

"That's definitely not what I was expecting."

"Not ashamed in my ancestry, that's pretty sweet." I smiled, "I'm ashamed in myself. Like I've sat through so many history classes in my life and I couldn't tell you three things about Alexander. The most I could tell you about him was from the musical Hamilton, and I just saw that, so that's kind of cheating"

He nodded his head and waited for me to go on, "I feel like I'm currently still in shock trying to process this."

"Did you expect this?"

I shook my head and tried to recompose myself, "Oh goodness no. Not even in my wildest dreams."

Jimmy and I talked a little bit more about Hamilton and even got to talk about the Hamilton musical before time was up.

"Well Lena, it's certainly been an interesting show! Thank you so much for coming out."

"Oh it was my pleasure."

We both got up and he hugged me before I waved to the crowd and hurried off the stage. I didn't talk to any of the crew behind the scenes; I was making a break to my dressing room. David was calling my name but I ignored him and shut the door to my dressing room before trying to find my phone. I couldn't find the damn thing anywhere in the room. I searched high and low and went through just about everything.

I had no idea why but tears started dropping from my eyes as I kept scavenging the room. Breathing was getting more difficult and my chest felt like it was compressing down into me. I finally quit searching and lay on the floor and cried. I wasn't quite sure why I was laying on the floor sobbing but here I was and I couldn't stop.

David softly knocked on the door before he peaked his head in, "Oh Lena." He walked in and shut the door behind him. I completely ignored him and continued crying. He sat down next to me and rubbed my back, "Lena talk to me." He whispered.

"I don't know." Was all I said before I started crying again. David picked me up and held me close to him.

"Shh. Lena it's okay." He set me down on the couch and tidied up the room. I eventually calmed down after my emotional outburst. David looked at me sadly, "Want to talk about it?"

I shrugged my shoulders, "Not much to talk about." I whispered and stared at the wall.

He nodded his head and handed me my phone. He pulled it out from his jacket pocket. I thanked him and looked at the few texts I had gotten. I typed in my mom's number and texted her.
