The rest of the day Lin and I just sat around and listened to music and talking about our respective lives. It was just so easy to talk to him. While I had known him for a mere four days it felt like I had known him for much longer. I had never been so incredibly comfortable with somebody right after I met him or her. This still terrified me though, I had to go back to Los Angeles in a few days and I was worried that it might be the end of whatever little fling we had going on together.
I didn't exactly know what to call what Lin and I had. To be fair, I had little to no experience in this area thanks to gymnastics so I had no idea what to expect next. It was terrifying and I didn't quite know how to go about it. I needed to talk to either David or my mom about what I was supposed to do.
Lin had called for me and knocked me out of my own head, "Lena, dinner's ready." He grinned at me.
"Oh," I got up and followed him to his table where he had set out two plates of chicken Parmesan, water and wine. He had placed a small candle in the center that made the dinner immediately more intimate. I flashed him a small smile and said, "Lin this looks incredible."
"It's nothing really." He said as he pulled out my chair and motioned for me to sit in it.
"Oh my gosh and it smells incredible."
He kept smiling, "I hope its good, I don't cook too often."
I took a bite and nodded, "It's amazing." I grinned
He sighed and took a bite himself, "Master chef." He said proudly holding up a piece of chicken.
I snickered, "Might I remind you about the pancake incident."
"Low blow Lena." He started cracking up, "I'm telling you that pancake burned itself."
"Oh I'm very well aware, you let me know that." I winked at him, "This sure does make up for that though."
He scoffed at me, "I was worried."
I laughed and took a sip of the wine and smiled, "This is incredible, what is this?" I looked at wine with wide eyes. I've never tasted anything so delicious in my life.
"Oh it's a Cabernet Sauvignon. It's called Quilcida Creek. I think I got it as a gift from opening night of Hamilton." He smiled and handed me the bottle.
"Wow. It's wow." I studied the bottle and made a mental note about the creator even though the bottle was likely more expensive than anything I could afford.
"Much wow. Very good." He said and smiled at me again.
"Indeed, so much wow." I said and looked back up into his eyes, "So Lin?"
"Yeah?"
"What's next for you?"
He tilted his head, "Work wise?"
I nodded my head.
"Well you know I'm working on Moana right now. This is one of the hardest projects I've done in some time but to be working with Disney is a dream come true. I'm actually just about to wrap it up." His smile dropped a little bit. He furrowed his eyebrows and sat there silent for a minute before speaking up, "I didn't really know how to bring this other thing up though."
"What's up?"
"Well I got offered this job way before I met you and I didn't know how to bring it up to you, I mean I was and am having the best time with you. Every time I wanted to bring it up I just couldn't, I wanted to live in the moment." He sighed.
