My alarm went off and I rocketed out of bed. Today was the day! I was reading with Daisy Ridley and auditioning for the part in the next Star Wars movie. I showered very quickly and made sure to take my time getting ready, I had to impress them... no exceptions.
David was driving me to the studio; I was sitting on the couch waiting on him when my phone rang.
"Sweet thing!" David yelled into the phone.
"David!" I yelled back trying to shake the nerves.
"Come on down!" He said. I said goodbye and ended the conversation. I raced down the stairs and smiled when I saw him waving in the car.
"David. It's so good to see you again." I said while buckling up my seat belt.
"My lil Lena." He smiled and started the car back up again, "How've you been? I know we caught up on the phone a couple days ago but I literally haven't seen you in over a month!"
"I know! Isn't that crazy? But I've been really good David. I've been so good. Probably the best I've been in my life." I smiled and looked at the background picture of my phone, it was of Lin and I being goofy.
"Is it because of that boy?"
I laughed, "It is because of that boy. I really love him David."
He smiled, "As if that hasn't been obvious."
"Shut up!" I laughed; it was so good to be back with David. He was like my partner in crime.
"I mean I'm just stating the obvious. It's so good to see you so damn happy Lena."
"Thanks David. It feels good to be this damn happy. How do you feel about him?"
"Lin?"
"Yup."
"I think he's a lucky bastard."
"David!" I laughed, "Come on. What do you think? You're opinion really matters to me."
He rolled his eyes,"If you would've let me finish! He's a lucky bastard but he's a great bastard nonetheless."
I smiled, "He's not a bastard."
"Look. You'll always be my little sister. Anybody you date is going to be a bastard in my eyes. It's unavoidable. But I do see that look in your eyes when you talk about him; he clearly makes you happier than anything in the world so that's obviously something. He's a great guy sweet thing. He seems to love you more than anything in the world too, that love is something else."
I nodded my head, "Then I'll take it!"
He smiled and we pulled up the studio much faster than I expected. We both got out and made our way to the front desk.
"How may I help you?" The lady asked giving the two of us a big grin.
"Hi! I'm Lena Hamilton. I have a reading with..."
"Of course!" She shot up out of her seat, "Follow me!"
We both followed her down a series of hallways and up an elevator before we arrived at the office of J.J. Abrams. Holy shit, this was actually happening. My phone buzzed and I looked down and saw Lin texted.
Lin: Good luck mi amor! I know you don't need it and I know you're going to kick this auditions ass! Love you!!!
I smiled and followed the woman. J.J, a few other men and Daisy were sitting in the room.
"Lena! I've heard so much about you." Daisy stood up and shook my hand, "I'm Daisy, so nice to finally meet you."
I smiled, "I mean the pleasure is really all mine. You blew my mind in The Force Awakens."
