It had been about a month since Lin had gotten back from London. We were back in that natural rhythm we had before we hadn't see each other for those six long months. Our schedules were both hectic as Lin was busy writing and filming for upcoming projects and I was right in the middle of shooting Star Wars but we found time for one another. We were in the part of the relationship where the honeymoon phase was over; we were completely comfortable in each other's presence. I quite liked the relationship we had going for us as it suited us wonderfully.

I woke up on that particular Saturday both elated and confused. Elated because both Lin and I had the entire weekend off, an anomaly in itself. Yet confused because Lin's beautiful face wasn't there when I woke up. I sat on my phone for a minute before I hopped up out of bed. I put on my robe and made my way to the kitchen, eager to find Lin.

Much to my disappointment he wasn't in the kitchen nor the living or dining rooms. I shrugged it off and made myself some coffee. I noticed his office door was closed; maybe he was catching up on some early morning work?

I quietly made my way to his office, just as I was about to knock on the door I overheard his voice and what sounded like his mothers voice on the other line. Hell, why not listen in? It was on speakerphone after all.

"Mom! Listen to me." He laughed, "I called for a very particular reason. You've got me side tracked."

I heard Luz laugh from the other side of the phone, "What is it Lin-Manuel?"

"I'm going to propose to her." He said.

My heart sped up and a huge grin made its way to my face. Holy shit! Was he really talking about proposing to me? He want's to spend the rest of his days with me?

"My boy!" Luz squealed, "When?"

"I'm not sure yet. I have some ideas in mind but nothing set in stone yet."

"We have to be there! Both your father and I. Oh and have you asked her mother yet? Make sure you ask her mother before you pop the question. Okay? You've got it?"

"Mom!" He laughed again, "I will fill you in on every single detail as they become readily available. And of course I will ask Lena's mom."

"My baby." She cooed, "Does she have any idea?"

"I don't think so. I mean we've spent more time apart than together. But mom she is the one. I know it. I knew it from the moment I met her. I bought the ring after the two weeks we spent together in New York. That's how much I know this thing is going to work out."

"You're a smart man. I can see the way you two look at each other. Nothing but love! She's so good for you."

"She's amazing. I can't even express it mom. I know we'll be okay no matter what; we survived nearly six months apart. We can do anything."

"I'm so happy for you Lin-Manuel."

"Thanks mom. I'm so happy too."

"I can't believe it! Both my babies are so grown up."

He laughed, "Alright mom. Gotta get going. Lena will be awake any second now."

Shit! I quietly made my way back to the kitchen where my coffee was sitting. I decided to take it outside and sit on the balcony that overlooked city, making it seem less obvious that I had just eavesdropped on his entire conversation.

Not five minutes later I heard the sliding door open. I looked over my shoulder and smiled when I saw him, truly a beautiful human stood behind me, "Good morning cutie." I winked at him.
