IT'S BEEN A YEAR. It has been exactly a year since I started writing this crazy story. I can't believe it. So as a little reminder to myself as to why I love this story so much I wrote a bit of a One Shot. This takes place in the very beginning of the relationship when they're still getting to know each other. This takes place as Lena is in New York City. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it!

I think for special anniversaries I'm going to write a little bit more about them in this stage of their lives, it's my favorite. :)

"Lin." I whispered, as I lay next to him, wide-awake in the dead of the night.

I didn't hear anything so I tapped his nose, "Lin-Manuel." I whispered just a little bit louder, trying to wake the sleepy man.

"Hmm?" He groaned and rolled away from me.

I smiled to myself happy that I woke him up somewhat peacefully, "I'm bored."

He rolled back over and opened just one eye, "Then sleep Lena."

I frowned, "I can't."

"Why not?"

I shrugged my shoulders as best as I could, "I dunno. Don't you think I would sleep if I could?"

He nearly rolled his eyes to the back of his head with that one, "Perhaps." He yawned.

"Can we do something?"

This time I opened both of his eyes and sighed, "It's 3:30 in the morning."

"Yeah so?"

He half chuckled half yawned to that one, "What's there to do at 3:30 in the morning Lena?"

I smiled, "It's New York freaking City! We can do anything that we want to!"

He sat up in the bed and rubbed his eyes, "I'm not going to be able to get out of this one huh?"

"No way Mr. Miranda."

He sighed again, "Fine," He slowly got out of bed, "The things I do for pretty women."

I smiled, "Does that mean you think I'm pretty then?"

"You know I think you're absolutely drop dead gorgeous."

I blushed, luckily it was so dark in here there was no way he could see the effect that he had on me, "My my, what a compliment."

He groaned, "Go on, get ready then."

I hopped out of bed and ran to the only change of clothes that I had brought with me, shorts, a tank top and a light cardigan to go over. August in New York City was typically hot but it was a bit cooler out tonight than most.

"Alright then, where are we going?"

Again, I shrugged my shoulders not thinking this part through, "Uhm..."

"You don't have a place do you?"

I smiled sweetly at him, "Not exactly."

"Oh my God you're going to kill me."

"That's truly not my end goal here." I winked at him.

He gave me that oh so adorable crinkly-eyed smile, "I've got an idea, hold on." He took his phone out of his pocket and dialed a number. Before I could ask what he was doing he walked away out of earshot.

I decided to let him do his Lin thing and sat down on his couch. I was in one of the weirdest yet most exciting times of my life. Here I was spending the night with a man that I had hardly known at all, literally. I've known the guy for less than two weeks but here I was, waking him up without a second thought because I knew he wouldn't be mad. I knew he liked spending time with me. I couldn't help but to smile that he had picked me, me! It felt to right. I never really understood the whole, 'made for each other' thing but now, now I understood exactly that.
