Sasha's pov

After a couple of minutes Jack knocked at the door. He had his goofy smile on his face.

"Why are you always smiling?" I opened my laptop and started to read my emails.

"Because I feel good in your presence." He sat down in the chair opposite me.

"Mmmh, listen, whatever you think is between us, it's all in your head. Snap out of it." The party preparations were going smooth.

"I don't think so!" He got closer to my laptop.

"Jack..."I closed my laptop. "Let's get back to business, first thing's first, any news regarding the call?" I sighed, he was getting on my nerves with his oh so sure about himself.

"None. McCoy is digging everywhere, he wants you behind bars." He took a pencil from my desk and started to play with it.

"I know. Second thing I want to talk, there will be a party soon, you and McCoy are invited." He froze.

"A party? A mafia party with the police? Are you mad woman?"

I got up from my chair, and poured myself a drink. "Next time you call me that, you will have one finger missing." He gulped and started to sweat.

"It's my party, my firm will invite all the rich people of New York, we want the police there. So who better than my two best friends?" My sarcasm was over the top.

"Aaaah...you want to make the police believe that you are a business woman and not a mafioso." His eyes kept mine.

"You will keep McCoy at hand. And if anything happens to me or my people you will charge them." I took a sip of my drink.

"Anything else?" He smiled.

"The third thing would be for you to keep your shit together. I am a busy woman, I don't have time for dates."

I sat down and opened my laptop again. There were more mails I had to check upon. "You can go Jack. Have a great night."

He stood up, his smile still lingering on his face, "I know you want me too. I can see that deep in your eyes. You mask it well, but not from me." He turned his back and walked to the door.

"Someday you will die because of this Jack. I don't want your blood on my hands. That's all. You may leave."

And so he did, blowing me a kiss and a wink. I mentally face palmed myself. Stubborn Texas Ranger.

My party planners sent me what has been done today and a receipt for the first stage of the party. I signed it and moved on to the one Sam sent me.

After that I went through the rent bills, everything was clean. No problems, my people payed good money for protection.

My phone buzzed, Hawk. "Hello?"

"What is my lovely princess doing today?" This man...

"Hawk, how can I help you?" A kid was screaming in the back for food. Oh so they are together, good for him.

"C'mon princess stop being so cold, so I was wondering, is the apartment ready?" I sighed, my associates usually take care of business like this, but as always I have reports of them.

"Why dis you not contact Cage, for this. You know he's the one with the keys." I will someday slap the shit out of him.

"I know...I know...but it's such a pleasure to talk to you kitten." He chuckled the boy still requesting food in the background.

"Hawk give that boy something to eat. I am currently looking in the report and the apartment is ready. Contact Cage." And I closed the conversation. Jessh sometimes I wonder is he was really trained in the same academy as me.

I remember the first time I saw him, hah he was always a rascal. Our sensei was displeased with him at the beginning but when he saw his true potential things changed, he became Hawk through the years. Like me, that was not his true name.

I smiled to the memories fighting in the gym and eating lunch in the cafeteria. Things were strict, don't get me wrong, but us and another two we were the rascals, always did what we wanted, that usually got us in trouble, but we were also the best.

Mercenaries, assassins, sharp shooters, martial arts pro's we mastered everything, even psychic manipulation and lying was easy. We got through lying tests so easy.

I wander what happened with the other two...Sun and North. Both of them left before us, we never knew where they went. I hope they are still alive.

Sighing I closed my laptop. It's been a long day. Marius called to tell me that the parcel has been delivered safe and he is coming back to take me home.

I kept thinking about my past and I lost  myself in thoughts.

After I don't know how much time Marius waved a hand in front of my eyes "Miss, miss are you alright?" He smiled.

"Yeah, I was just...let's go" he nodded and we left.

"I heard Hawk has his baby brother with him now. It's hood news, yes?" He looked in the review mirror.

"Indeed." He took the sign that I was not in the mood for talking and kept silent until we reached the apartment.

"Thank you, Marius. Have a great night." He tried to protest to come up and verify the apartment but I was mot in the mood. The chef was away today so it should all be fine. No one can enter or reach it, well except my kind, like Hawk did.

Marius nodded and left. There was a chilly breeze outside. It almost seemed like it will rain soon.

My apartment was at the outskirts of the neighborhood, it was nice and gave me a great view of the things I owned.

I entered got myself something to eat and opened all the front windows. Rain started to pour.

My clothes were on a pile on the floor, I put my feet up on the table and closed my eyes. Listening to the rain. Peaceful was the word to describe my moment.

It was what I needed. Soon all hell will break loose, I can feel it in the air.
