Chapter 28

Sasha's pov
Xavier gave us the ok to move Jack. I called McCoy and asked him to come by with a team of paramedics just in case.
Jack's condition was stable but he did not get out of the induced coma. His body was still frail. So they used an ambulance to get him to a hospital.

I returned to the office and realized I haven't checked on Marius yet. My mail kept blinking, I left it like that, business can wait. Took my jacket and went back to Xavier.

Marius was up, his head bandaged.
"How's the kid?" He smiled.
"Jack is being transported to a hospital.  Xavier told us he is stable." I took a seat next to his bed.
"I am happy you were not hurt Miss." he reached for a glass of water.
"Well, it's not done yet. I will summon a meeting with the heads of the Neighborhoods soon. It's time they know what's happening."

He gulped and sighed "Do you think that's wise? You killed one of them!"

"I know...but if I don't do this, they will keep attacking me, and I will keep killing them."

I rubbed my temples, my stomach started to growl, it's been almost two days since I last ate.

"You should go home. Take some days off. I'll soon go home too and tomorrow the business will be back. Miss please, you need it." Marius smiled at me.

I knew he had only good intentions but we have business to attend as my mail kept blinking.

"Only for tonight! Tomorrow we have a club to open up!" I gently squeezed his hand and left.

God I so want to go home. I took my keys out and walked to the garage. There was a black mustang there, one of my fathers...I took the keys from the panel and started the engines.

I went home, alone and maybe a bit scared of what the future will hold for me.

My staff were all away so I had to see what the fridge could offer. There was lasagna and mashed potatoes with beef...well lasagna it is then.

I took a piece and hopped in my bed. What's Jack going right now? Did he wake up? What will the Chinese do next? Did they unite forces with the Russians?

I had a lot of questions...my body became heavier and heavier and I fell asleep.
