Jack's pov
This was incredible, I have never seen this kind of party.

We have bene here for 3 hours already and McCoy was already tipsy. A few glasses more and I had to call the car for him.

Our discussion with Sasha stirred a lot of questions from him. He will be researching about England tomorrow.

As I scanned through the room, I saw Sasha dancing with a man with long hair. She was smiling and if I was not mistaking, blushing.

My blood started to boil, she was mine. I didn't want to see her blush for someone else.
I finished my whiskey in one gulp.

Who was that guy? I have never seen him. He looked like a man with many secrets.

I kept talking to McCoy when I heard a raspy voice.

"Vodka, neat please." It was the guy that danced with Sasha.

He then looked at me, "Nice party huh?"

"Yeah, impressive." I offered him my hand. "I'm Jack Evans."

He shook my hand "Rick Shore."

"And this is detective McCoy." He nodded.

McCoy's eyes were a bit blurry, they shook hands, and he excused himself going to the bathroom.

Oh boy...

"Jack.." mr Shore looked at me. "Let's cut to the chase. Do your job at the police station, don't get in trouble. And stay away from her. It's so obvious. You had your eyes on her all night. She is too good for you. Do not get in her way because you will end up dead in a bin."

He took a last swing of his glass an walked away.
Then I understood, he was one of them. One of the people from the Red Painted Neighborhood, one of her loyal men.
But I had a feeling he was more than that.

I almost reached and punched him in the head, but I had other plans.

I wanted her...

Sasha's pov

The party was going well, everyone was drunk, crowding the dancing floor.

Hawk was sitting in the back looking at a redhead. She was stunning, white dress, black eyes, red lips. I approached him casually, "You should give her a chance."

I took a martini glass, "She's really pretty, and wealthy."

"Hah, no Sash I don't need no distractions." He nodded

"Speaking of distractions, how's the brat?"

"He's fine, taking care of a child is not an easy job, but I am trying my best." His eyes still lingered on the redhead's body.

"Stop being stupid and let go for a night. Tomorrow we start the war, go and have fun." I pushed him in her direction.

She smiled, he smiled..

"You are getting soft." Sun whispered in my ear.

I finished my martini and took another one, what the hell, this could be my last night.

"I always knew you would come back Sun. I just didn't know when."

I turned to face him, "Your oil magnate is ready for a visit two days from now. He is willing to negotiate, I don't know how much." He smiled.

"Thank you. How is the apartment?"

"It's perfect, thank you. North likes it too." He took a glass of champagne.
