Dazai x Reader (1/2)|Heart Like Yours

You didn't like coming home. Wait,not right. You liked your home, but you didn't like the silence in your home. That silence was drowning you in your own sadness. The reason of your sadness was that you were lonely. Not just now. You've been lonely all your life. You were used to be lonely, but you couldn't be used to feel pain. Pain was always in your heart. While other people were dating,having fun,falling in love and just living a happy life,you were sitting alone in your house thinking "What's wrong with me? Why can't I be happy like others?". Pain was always in your heart

You continued to live like this until, one day, one person came into your love and made the pain in your heart dissapear.

His name was Dazai Osamu

You met when you started working at the agency. Dazai and you started getting along well from the very begining. He tried to spend with you as much time as he could. That's why Kunikida was often mad at him because Dazai didn't want to go on missions without you. He often complimented you and made you blush. He was always there, when you were scared on some missions. You were best friends. He made you feel needed and important. He made you forget about all those terrible things the world has taught you.

But you still weren't dating.

It was a usual winter evening. You were home and just got out of the shower. You were going to spend the evening on your own, watching films and maybe eating some sweets, but before that you decided to check your phone.

There were 4 missing calls from Dazai

You started getting nervous. Something was wrong. You were in the shower for about 20 minutes and he called 4 times. Did something bad happen during this time?

Immediatly, you called him and he answered

"(Y/N), you've finally called me back!Why didn't you answer?" He said

"Sorry, I was in the shower and didn't hear you calling" You answered

"Ah, got it" He was about to say something else

"Dazai, is everything okay?" You asked worried

"Eh, yeah! Of course" He answered "It's just...Kunikida and I are on a mission. Remeber, that new organisation, which caused a lot of troubles? Well, we're about to get into their base"

Your heart missed a bit

You knew about this organisation, Dazai talked about. It was called "Konotori" and they were extremly dangerous.

"Why didn't you took me with you on this mission? I could help! Do you understand how dangerous it is to sneak inside their base? What if something happens to you?" You asked him

"(Y/N), I swear, we'll come back safe and sound" He answered "And..."

He didn't finish the sentence. You heard his breathing, but he didn't say a word. Was Dazai hesitating?

"And...what?" You broke the silence

"Eh...and...nothing. It doesn't matter" he said, but he didn't finish the call

He wanted to say something,but he was either afraid or interrupted. He wasn't goofy like and joking like  always right now. He was serious. You knew, that he was trying to make a decision,but you didn't knew what he tried to decide. There was silence again, but after a couple of seconds he finally decided to speak

"Wait no,that's not true" He spoke "You know, this mission is quite dangerous and before it starts, I wanted to say...I love you, (Y/N)"

"Wait, what did he just say?!!" You thought "Did he just confessed to me??!!"

You were shocked and happy at the same time. An unknown warm feeling filled you chest and you couldn't help, but let a wide smile appear on your face. You've never ever been happier in your entire because now you knew, that there is someone who loves you and needs you and worries about you and you are no longer alone in this life

"Dazai" You finally spoke "I...love you too"

Little did you know, that now the same smile appeared on Dazai's lips

"Well...don't you mind if I come to you after this mission?" He asked "It's dangerous, but I don't think that it'll take a lot of time"

"Yes, of course! I'll be waiting for you" You answered immediatly

"Okay" He said "Well, I must be going now"

"Please, don't do anything too dangerous and be careful" You asked him

"Don't worry too much. I'll come back faster than you'll say "double suicide", believe me" He said

You heard Kunikida screaming something to Dazai and you knew, that now it was time to finish the call

"See you, my love" Dazai said

"Yeah, see you" You answered

After that, Dazai finished the call

"This hours of waiting will last like an infinity" You thought
