Part 7: Crush

A few days after I cried myself to sleep, I was sitting in my photography class. I decided to take it during the summer because it would look better when I graduated.

"Yeah, omg they're like totally hot," the popular girl in the class said. I disliked her a lot. Maybe it was because of the way she acted. Or maybe it was her personality. "And omg have you seen they're new video? They just admitted that they have a small crush on this YouTuber. Riley I think her name was?" I rolled my eyes when she said this as she pulled up the video and fast forwarded it to that part where the twins were talking about Rose.

"'Have you heard of the YouTuber named Rose and would you ever do a collab with her?'," Ethan read off of his phone.

"I think she's pretty cool. We'd have to get in touch with her people though to do a collab. Ethan likes her more than I do though," Grayson said as he turned to his brother and poked him in the side.

"Not true! Gray stop!" Ethan said as he turned bright red and fell over laughing as Grayson tickled him.

At that point I stopped listening because I texted Lola.

😝😇💚Veronica: Did u hear what the dolan twins said?!

👸👭❤Lola: Yes. U need to calm down though. It's not like they know who u r.

😝😇💚Veronica: But they could find out?!

👸👭❤Lola: We'll make sure they don't, right? Remember; u want to keep it a secret.

😝😇💚Veronica: I guess ur right. Idky I'm freaking out again.

👸👭❤Lola: Lol ok now get back to class.

😝😇💚Veronica: We're just sitting here but ok. I'll just look at social media stuff then.

👸👭❤Lola: Lol ok. I'll talk to you later then.

Sighing, I put my earphones in and tuned out the world. While I listened to Feeling Good by Michael Buble I scrolled through twitter. A lot of it was nonsense. I went and checked the trending hashtags and there was a hashtag for me. Well for Rose. #weloveyourose This gave me mixed feelings. Feelings of love but feelings of anxiety. Turning my phone off, I got up and asking the teacher if I could go develop my negatives. A few hours later they came out. They were beautiful. Exactly how I wanted them. The pictures of the lake were the ones that I was drawn to the most. They were simple yet breathtaking. They made me want to go the ocean and see actual waves. Rolling my eyes as I hung up the negatives on the clothes pins, I thought, Yeah right. Going to the ocean. That'll never happen.

Ethan's p.o.v.

"I can't believe you put that in the video bro!" I told Gray as I stared at the computer screen.

"Oh c'mon E. We always tell our fans the truth. Plus, it's not like you don't like her."

"Yeah, but still!"

"Ok, ok I'm sorry," Grayson said as he threw his hands up in mock defeat, "think about some other girls then. How about the one that won the contest? She's kinda cute don't you think?"

The girl's face flashed in my mind. The way she looked so shocked. She wasn't bad but she was nowhere near as beautiful as Rose.

"She's ok. She isn't that pretty though," I told Gray as I turned back to the computer screen, Not as pretty and beautiful and fun as Rose. I thought.

"Haha ok E. Keep daydreaming about your girlfriend," Grayson laughed.

S*** did I just say that out loud?!

"You sure did buddy."

As Grayson left, I sat there thinking. Would she even like me if we meet? Would she think I'm weird or think I'm a douche bag? I sighed and went back to YouTube. She had uploaded a video that was of her singing and talking about why she did her channel. I was just drawn to how humble she was.

But I'd never have a chance to meet her. She's out of my league.
