Part 10: Taking the Wheel

Veronica's p.o.v.

"I want to take up this offer mom and dad," I stated as Lola and I sat at her kitchen table with all four of our parents, "And I want Lola to come with me."

"Where are you going to stay? How long are you going to stay? Are you sure you want to go through with this? What about school?" We got rapid fire questions from our parents.

"Stop!" I said loudly after everyone started talking at once. "I want to take up the offer. I don't know how long I'll be there but if we can get an apartment for the time being we would be fine."

After about an hour of talking, we all decided that Lola and I would go alone. After we made this choice I had to email Mr. White back.

I took a deep breath as I sat my phone down on the table.

We're really doing this. Going to Los Angeles and living in an apartment.

I sighed and got up to go get a piece of paper and pen. If we were going to be looking for an apartment it would have to have a few things in it.

- two bedrooms/one that fits two beds
- by a beach
- one balcony
- kitchen
- one bathroom
- living room

I starred at what I had so far. The two things on the list that I really wanted was a balcony and to be by the beach. If we had that, in between everything I could test out my new camera.
Really I was just scared. Living in Los Angeles in an apartment with Lola for the first time? In a whole new state and city? To be honest, it scared me. As I thought about it I remembered what Lola told me. She told me that it would be fine. That calmed me down.
Slowly I got up and went to grab all of my stuff to go home.
I'd start have to packing soon.

I poked my head into Lola's room just as I was about to leave, "Hey I'm going to go home and start packing."

"Ok see you later," she said.

Two days later

Ethan's p.o.v.

I couldn't stop thinking about her. Every meeting we went to, ever skate park, every video we made; I just couldn't stop thinking about her. It was a bright and sunny day in Los Angeles as I was sitting on a beach outside of mine and Grayson's apartment. I was sitting on the beach starring at the conversation I had with her. Should I message her? I thought. Screw it.

Grant 🏈: Hi.

"Why did you send that Ethan? How lame was that 'hi'." I said as I laid back on the sand and put my arm over my eyes.

Rose 🌹: Hi. 😁

Oh my God. She answered. I sat back up so fast I almost feel over. "Play it cool, E."

Grant 🏈: How are you?

Rose 🌹: I'm fine. Just a little overwhelmed.

Grant 🏈: Why's that?

Rose 🌹: I'm moving.

Grant 🏈: If you don't mind where are you moving?

Rose 🌹: I'm moving to Los Angeles.

Moving to Los Angeles. Holy shit?!

Grant 🏈: Who that's great! How come you're overwhelmed by that?

Rose 🌹: All of the stuff that we have to do. Find an apartment, pack, catch a flight. Stuff like that.

Grant 🏈: I live in L.A. If you want I can help you out.

Rose 🌹: No that's ok. I'm coming tomorrow to look for an apartment and my stuff doesn't come until a day later.

Grant 🏈: Ok maybe after that we could meet up. If you're up for it.

Rose 🌹: Haha ok. But tell me what the weather is like there? Warm I hope?

Grant 🏈: It's perfect. Warm and sunny most of the time. ☀🌊

Rose 🌹: Perfect. 🌞I love it warm and sunny.

I smiled to myself as I replied.

Grant 🏈: Then you'll love it here in Los Angeles.

Rose 🌹: Great. Well I have to go. I'll message you later.

Grant 🏈: Great. 🙂 I'll talk to you later then.

Rose 🌹: Can't wait. 😉😁

Me neither. I thought as I laid back on the sand and smiled into my hand. I'm falling so hard.

Veronica's p.o.v.

At least we'll know someone in L.A. Maybe he can help us get to know the area.
But what if he'll reveal who I really am.
One small part of me thought that. I'll have to talk to Lola about it first.

Sighing, I laid down in bed. Everything we needed was packed and tonight would be the last night that I'd be sleeping in my bed at home for a while.

As I drifted off to sleep, I thought of having an ocean view. With waves crashing on the shores.
