Lola shouted for us to come in, it was unlocked. I opened the door, dragged my bike in and held in open for Grayson with my foot. There were boxes everywhere and Lola was unpacking some in the living room. She had already connected my small but powerful speaker up and was blasting music. She was dancing and singing to it in sweatpants, a tank top and a messy bun.

"I'm guessing they have wifi in the building," I said as I grunted and put my bike in a tiny closet by the door.

"Yeah, also I put the boxes with your stuff in the first room," she told me still with her back to us.

"Ok. Hey do you know what box the first aid and towels are in?" I asked her.

"No, why?"

"Well I've got a bloody elbow here that I need to clean up," I told Lola. She still didn't turn around.

"Just go wash it off," she waved her hand at me. "You don't need first aid for a small scrape on your arm."

I stopped for a minute, "You're right. Except it's not small and it's not my arm." That finally burst her bubble.

"What do you mean, it's not----- ..." she turned around and stopped talking. She just stared. "Veronica, can I talk to you for a second?" Lola put a fake smile on and grabbed my arm. She took me to the farthest room in the apartment.

"Why did you bring him here?!" She whisper shouted at me.

"I'm the reason he has the bloody elbow. I wasn't paying attention while I was riding my bike. You know how clumsy I am," I shot back.

She rolled her eyes, "Yeah believe me I know. I swear if he finds out....." She pointed a finger at me with a serious face.

"Uh guys?" We heard the door squeak open. "I hate to break up your intense conversation but I'm feeling a little lightheaded."

"Ok, you guys go sit down in the kitchen. Lola give him my apple from my bag and a cup of water. I'll look for the first aid stuff and a towel," I said as my overprotective side kicked in.

They went to the kitchen and I went into the bathroom. I opened all 6 boxes in there looking through each for what I needed. I found it in the last box. I grabbed bandages, a wash cloth, rubbing alcohol and a few other things and made my way toward the kitchen. Laughter drifted down the hallway.

I snuck closer, being careful not to make a sound. "She's great. She can be a handful sometimes, with that personality of hers but she means well." I heard Lola say.

Grayson laughed, "You guys remind me of this YouTuber-----"

"Hey I found it!" I said a little to enthusiastically as I interrupted their conversation.

"That's great. I'm ready to get this arm cleaned up," Grayson said as he went to the counter and hopped up on it.

"Good," I said as I set all of the things in my arms down on the other side of the counter. "Bite this." I gave him a towel

"Why?" He asked genuinely confused.

"Because it's going to hurt like a bitch. Plus we just moved in; we don't want our neighbors thinking we torture people," I replied as I doused a big pad with rubbing alcohol. He sat there silently, except for a few muffled curse words and grunts from the pain, as I cleaned out his 'wound'. "All done," I said as I finished wrapping a bandage around his elbow.

I packed up all of the things I had as he said, "Thank you." He said as he touched his arm cautiously and flexing it slightly before hopping off the counter.

"And again I'm sorry I did that," I told him.

He chuckled, "I've had worse."

"Yeah so have I. Still I'm sorry, I don't like it when I'm the reason someone got hurt or when someone does get hurt," I said as I went back toward the bathroom to put the stuff in the box.

"Haha it's ok," he said as he followed me, "So you guys moved here?"

"Yeah we got here today," Lola said as she walked past the door carrying an empty box.

"Yep," I told him as I put a box full of feminine hygiene products on the counter and started putting them away.

"Already unpacking? You guys work fast," Gray said as he crossed his arms and leaned against the door frame.

"Yep, we want to go to sleep tonight," I said with a chuckle.

He laughed along with me. "I can stick around if you guys want, and you know help out."

"I guess that's ok. You can help Lola with her stuff and flatten the boxes when we're done with them."

"Cool, let's do this!" He said as he clapped and rubbed his hands together, then wincing at the the pain.

"But before you help eat another apple and take someone advil," I said as I tossed him the bottle of advil.

Almost two hours later we we're done. Well Lola and Grayson were. I was still putting my room together but I was taking a break.

"If you guys want to order a pizza or something, you can. I've gotta go finish unpacking my room," I said as I got up leaving sitting on the couch.

"I think I've gotta call my brother to come get me. It's late and I don't feel like jogging home in the cool weather," Gray said as he looked out the window and then stood up too.

"Ok. That sounds good," I said heading into the kitchen. Grayson called his brother and then asked me for a sticky note. I dug through a box of pens, paper and pencils. He wrote down his number and handed it to me.

"What's this for?" I asked, taking the sticky note.

"If you guys ever want to hang out or check out some cool places," He said, smiling like a dork. "I know what it's like moving here and not knowing anyone."

"Thanks," I said just as someone knocked on the door.

"And that's my brother. Thanks for patching me up, doc," Grayson said as he headed toward the door. Lola stood there with a weird look on her face.

"No problem," I unlocked the door and came face to face with none other than Ethan Dolan. He was wearing a purple tank top with sweats and flip-flops with socks.

"Gray, why don't you have a fucking shirt on?" He said after I opened the door.

"I think it's because he was jogging," I said bluntly. "Right?" I said as I turned and asked Grayson.

"Yeah, and she helped me patch up my arm," Gray said as he held up his elbow.

"Great," Ethan said super sarcastically. There was an awkward silence. Ethan stood there irritated as he checked his phone. Grayson had an apologetic smile on his face and Lola and I just stood there. "Let's go," Ethan said as he turned around and walked the other way without looking up from his phone. He typed something in it and my phone vibrated in the pocket of my sweatpants.

"Sorry for the way he acted. He's been a little bit, uh salty and edgy lately," Grayson apologized after he walked away.

"Why's that?" Lola asked from the kitchen.

"He's been talking to a girl online that he really likes. But shhh, don't tell him I told you," Gray told us.

"Our lips are sealed," I said laughing quietly and as Lola zipped her lips shut.

"Let's go Grayson!" Ethan said as he poked his head around the corner where typing into his phone. My pocket vibrated again. Weird.

"Thanks again," Grayson said as he went to hug us. "Better not," he laughed, "Goodnight."

I closed the door and looked at my phone.
